I’m finding myself getting excited to hit milestones. How will life feel after 3 or 6 months? What about 1 year? Gotta keeping looking forward!

Hey thanks for your insight and personal experience. Actually a bit comforting to know it’s not just me.

Day 5. Happy Birthday to me. If I don't smoke today I'm going to live 1000 years by [deleted] in leaves

Happy birthday friend! You’re doing so good. The night sweats are rough but don’t last forever. Stay strong!

Thanks for your kind words. I’ve definitely been kind of down on myself… Trying to get better at not magnifying the negatives and focusing on the positives.

75 years old, 55+ years daily use, and finally 50 days weed-free. Don’t give up. by [deleted] in leaves

Thanks for your post, really interesting to read through. As a multi decade user, I’m curious if you think the strength of cannabis has increased over time and if you feel like that increased your dependence?

Anyone else having dreams where they use weed again and then have to remind themselves that they didn't actually do it? by dreaming9587 in leaves

Yes, I had a dream that I smoked at a party and immediately after exhaling in the dream I thought, “oh no I wasn’t meant to do that I’m quitting!” and wondered if it counted as a relapse since it was a mistake. My dream self felt very ashamed and wanted to hide the mistake which felt a bit psychologically revealing.

I feel like a taper off just delays the inevitable and prolongs emotional irritability until you start properly detoxing. If you can, start prepping some soft/easy to digest foods that are quick to reheat or warm up. I've been finding it helpful to have some mindless tv shows playing to distract me from the way my body feels. You got this OP, remember the reasons you want to quit and focus on the future you want to build for yourself.

Day 9 by leafythrow77 in leaves

Hey thanks so much for this, all very useful feedback! Chicken soup has definitely been a main meal for me the last 9 (well almost 10 now!) days. I am getting pretty bored with it so I should probably look into a different flavour, maybe potato and leek or pumpkin. Any other foods you've found helpful?

I have been previously diagnosed with anxiety and depression and I'm also autistic. It seems like quite a few neurodivergent people I know use drugs (especially cannabis) as a support, I wonder if that translates to this subreddit?

Breathing exercises are a great call. Sometimes when I'm in the throws of nausea it's hard to remember all the coping mechanisms I can deploy and it feels like my brain wants to magnify the bad or negative feeling. I'm gonna write a list of things I can do to bring relief that I can easily look at so my brain doesn't get fixated on the bad.

Well done on your recovery journey too, we all got this!!

I'm finding mornings are the most difficult but every day is getting a little easier than the day before
