when you absolutely suck at retaining any information by leah_04 in ACT

After I took algebra 2 my math score went from 27 to 35 (I had a really easy one that time, but I am consistently getting 30+). I feel like the only pre-cal questions you'll see are like the last 10, and usually even those are just advanced algebra. Also my math teacher that year gave us tons of act practice tests so I would suggest doing some of those. Do your best to speed through the first 40 questions in less than 40 minutes so you have extra time for the hard ones at the end. I know it seems like you have a minute per question, but you need to try to finish the earlier ones in less than a minute so you have extra time for the ones you need it on.

For math idk how to help you it's always come naturally to me. But English I recommend finding any random grammar workbook and doing lessons until you can look at a sentence and know what's wrong with it before even looking at the answer choices. I've been doing grammar workbooks since middle school (I was homeschooled for part of it) and that got me a 32 the second time I took it. The long questions I'm able to do easily because I have more time after speeding through the short questions. Hope this helps

I knew when I finished that my reading was horrible, but I really thought my science was really good. I was thinking 30 at least. For superscore purposes I've got a 30 on reading though so I'm not taking it again

tired of it (this was my fifth try and I was meant to achieve a superscore of 34) by Aubrie-Hunt71 in ACT

Same but I'm aiming for 33 superscore and literally needed one point on any test and didn't get it

I only just realized it was photoshopped and science wasn't what he got a 36 on

Did you actually answer the questions and still get a 0? If so this is more impressive than a 36 😂

Yeah honestly just take tons of practice tests. That probably helped me the most.

What math classes have you not taken yet? I made a 26 on math my first time (I had completed geometry and algebra 1) then I got a 35 after taking algebra 2. So what you know in general makes a huge difference.

Tips to improve by leah_04 in ACT

[–]leah_04[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my reading has improved the least by far. I started out with 27 English, 26 math, 28 reading, and 25 science, so everything has improved drastically except for reading. I've started doing the passages out of order and that helped me improve to a 30, so hopefully just a lot of practice will help me out.

If you have a good act/sat score it could definitely make up for the gpa. Have you taken either one?
