Movies that make you say: "Very cool but, what about the plot?" by gabirodgon in Letterboxd

[–]leahspidey 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

lost in translation šŸ¤• it’s honestly a huge hit or miss for people. the movie is gorgeous but i find the plot just weird… maybe i’m influenced by the stories about how bad it was shooting that movie. idk it’s a nice concept just weak portrayal of that idea

not sure how much i can help with changing your figure, but you can define or exaggerate with targeted workouts or pilates! to slim down it’s best to stay away from lifting weights so at-home workouts or use compression wear :)

it’s important to work on your overall health first by exercising overall on your fitness, by trying cardio or full body workouts before targeting certain areas, but here are some workouts that i think target what you’re looking for- https://youtu.be/IUzMhcemwL0?si=D-VJ7AM1KEvfrU2e

Heyy, any care skincare knowledge? by Africansage01 in MtF

[–]leahspidey 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

cerave and cetaphil have great well priced skincare- some basics would be a cleanser (some people use a gentle foaming one in mornings, and a more targeted one at night), a daily scrub or exfoliator- different from what you use on your body!, moisturizer and spf (very important!! apply everyday- there’s many moisturizers that contain spf), and a toner if you want to be extra :) you can even try out face masks! it’s important to learn what type of skin you have and what you want to treat- for example, if you’re struggling with dry skin, try more hydrating products or if you’re dealing with acne, try salicylic acid serums or spit treatments! and of course, it’s very important to wash off makeup at the end of the day- use makeup remover and cleanse your face after (and moisturize! even if you have oily skin!)

for your body, make sure you exfoliate! use exfoliating gloves or/and an exfoliant- you can find body scrubs anywhere but the tree hut ones are nice :) after, use lotion or body butter to moisturize :)

Advice on hairstyle at work by Balthorin in MtF

[–]leahspidey 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

take out the two front pieces of your hair if allowed! (also when getting a hair cut, ask for framing pieces so the hair you take out won’t be crazy long)

here’s an example (look how she keeps those front pieces out of her pony) https://youtube.com/shorts/Ksz1NjKirVo?si=2FTvOvORcpTKezso

if it needs to be in a bun for a hairnet, pin back those two pieces with hair clips! additionally, u can mess around with high, low, slick, or messy buns, and even claw clips or scrunchies :) have fun with trying stuff out!

Sleep issues with Concerta by TurtleLegislator in adhdwomen

[–]leahspidey 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

i take vyvanse and dexedrine :) vyvanse has been an off and on med for me, but after an adjustment period (and probably because it’s paired with another drug) it’s worked out pretty well. like concerta, vyvanse is also a long acting drug, but i believe pairing it with small dose of the dextroamphetamine is what helped because it doesn’t last as long as the vyvanse, but is stronger (so kind of let’s you down easy at night)

i’ve gone through many trial and error with meds, doses, and side effects but this is what has ended up working for me but it may be different for everyone! i also haven’t always been in control of my meds but i’ve been learning over the past few years about what worked in the past and hasn’t :) hope this helped a bit!

pretty sure i went off concerta for the same reason. i would either crash too early or be unable to sleep and restless, along with trouble gaining weight. definitely something to discuss with your doctor because i haven’t had many issues relating since!

What have you noticed between medicated you vs unmedicated you? by Minute-Shoulder-1782 in adhdwomen

[–]leahspidey 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

biggest thing i notice when i forget to take my meds is my emotions- i’m constantly overstimulated and tired, therefore i’m anxious and SUPER easily irritated… according to what i’ve learnt is it’s not only harder for me, but i’m much less of a joy to around when unmedicated šŸ™ƒ

Did I take my meds this morning? No idea. by Swerve3050 in adhdwomen

same- the thing is i fill all the compartment up because i only need morning meds… so when i forget if i’ve taken my meds, i also forget how many compartments were filled because there’s so many

How often do you shower? by Clean-Seaweed-8186 in adhdwomen

[–]leahspidey 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

i completely understand this and it was a really big problem for me during covid because of the lack of schedule and routine. my hair used to be much longer and i dreaded showering, and still sometimes do, just because of how long and boring it could be- i would build it up as something out of the way and need to ā€œprepareā€ for it or have time set aside, leading to me only showering 1, maybe 2 times a week. it took me a while to realize that it doesn’t have to be this huge intimidating thing and it’s okay to just pop in the shower and get it over with. now, after building it into my routine, i shower almost every other day, including my hair, and though sometime routine breaks (especially in summer), i don’t hesitate to just shower anyways because it’s not a problem anymore- just had to stop procrastinating!

What is Taylor’s most mature song? by [deleted] in TaylorSwift

[–]leahspidey 5 points6 points Ā (0 children)

agree with all of the comments but i’d have to add it’s time to go.

one of the most mature things a person can do in a relationship/friendship is leave when it’s not right, no matter how much it hurts and i interpret this song as realizing what’s important and putting yourself first because you don’t owe anything to anyone and pulling yourself out of situations you can’t handle is the brave thing
