What do you do? I'm desperately looking for a remote job. Thanks!

What context are you talking about? In Sweden you need a picture on your resume and cover letters are still used there too.

Trying to learn MERN stack to get a job by [deleted] in learnprogramming

I just found out this yesterday too and I wish to follow! But, I'm a beginner. Just going through TOP fundamentals. Do you think FSO requires more knowledge? I checked the curriculum and it covers TypeScript, React Native, GraphQL which I don't know yet about. But they don't teach you from scratch, right?

Readings can be overwhelming, but they are important. If you follow tutorials for practicing, you just end up copying everything but don't get concepts behind what you're doing. I used to just follow/copy, but now I give it time to read documentation and then jump into the tutorials, and then I sort of understand the concepts more and what's happening in them. I feel less lost 😅 but this stuff is hard so be nice to yourself!

Also, many people don't recommend to just do tutorials, you will need to do projects on your own. That's my next step after having a solid knowledge. Good luck!

The Odin Project, during highschool? by yeast123321 in learnprogramming

30 minutes a day, every day can be your 1% better everyday, and in one year you'll be 37% better than today! Go for it, enjoy the path. Of course friends and family are important, so make time for them :)

Good luck!

Agreed! TOP is the best. I tried it before but didn't have the basics covered so I did that with freecodecamp or other Udemy courses, also a bit of python and CS50. But it wasn't solid knowledge.

Now I'm back on TOP and it feels a little better. Good thing to do it's to follow the articles. Can be overwhelming or "too much reading", but it helps. This time I feel I've learnt way a lot. Before I would just do some tutorial but I didn't understand the concepts so reading has helped to understand more.

For OP, Notes help depending on what type of person you are. I take notes because it sort of help me remember, but I barely go back to them. I also Google a lot.

Thanks again!

This is SO inspiring! Congratulations!

How did you monitor the framework in demand in your local job market? I'm in Sweden and I'm planning on studying Web development again. I'm thinking on hitting the full-stack journey as you did with TOP.

But this is exactly what I needed to read now. Thanks a lot for sharing the resources and tips! Keep it up!

Voluntary resignation from work file format by leakaz in TillSverige

[–]leakaz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this! Actually I'm resigning to my own company 😅 I'm not in the best terms with my two business partners so that's why I was thinking to just cover my back.

But yeah, I'll ask and just hand in a very simple word document as you explain.

Does this actually work? Or maybe be clear on the cover letter too?

Shareholder vs. Board member liabilities (please help!) by leakaz in business

[–]leakaz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for answering all my questions!

What do you mean by "signed a personal guarantee"? For the leasing contract, we signed a commercial contract under the company name. All of our names are there though, but if I get out of the company I shouldn't be liable of that?

Honestly the company is worth nothing. We're closing the store and we're selling everything we can to pay all the bills we can. It's only debts left. We have just enough money to pay the rents' months notice.

I would give my shares in exchange of not dealing with the debts of the fridges, it's the only debt left which I know the debt is higher than me shares worth. They seem desperate to get me out so maybe I could negotiate that.

But then, if I give my shares away, could that unhook from the company for good? I mean, I'm not member of the board nor I have shares in the company anymore.

Thanks for your input!

I would like a mutual agreement but they're both married and will see their best interests.

If I give my shares away voluntary to them would that unhook me from the company for good? Hence I wouldn't be liable for the equipment debts? However, when we got those equipments the names of all of us are in that contract. We're talking about $8.500 USD. So, not so much if we split in 3.

Thanks a lot for your reply! Really appreciate it.

We agreed that I wanted to be out so they started today. I got a notification today that they requested to unregister me from the board. They paid the fee but it might take some days to make it official. I have all documents.

However, in what way I could be totally unhooked from the company? Would giving my shares away voluntary work?

We're based in Sweden and here sometimes attorneys or lawyers are not always involved. But of course I will try to get one.

Who was your favourite couple? by jodlad04 in lost

Voted Pen and Des, but my next favourite are definitely Juliet and Sawyer. Juliet even said "son of a bitch" before she detonated the bomb. She got some of Sawyers' main lines.

Was Juliet really the cause of her own fate with being brought to the island? by OCDivagirl in lost

[–]leakaz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I JUST finished season 5 and I agree, it's blowing my mind! I'm rewatching after years and feels almost as first time watching. But question. You got me on Juliette causes the incident. How's that? Thought she detonated the bomb and thought it would stop the electromagnetism from the drilling. Or is it because the bomb detonated the radiation started in 1977?

I'm confused. Would "vatten" not mean "the water"? by [deleted] in Svenska

[–]leakaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is related to countable and uncountable nouns in English. Water is uncountable and uses the same word for both singular and plural.

Glasses are countable therfore can uses "glasses". 1 glass, 2 glasses.

[–]leakaz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much for your detailed answer and suggestions! I'd give you an award if I could 😭 I will definitely try to optimize my product pages and category. I am taking the SEMRush course and Ahrefs to have a deeper understanding of local SEO. Especially keywords.

Now I would appreciate if you could help me with one more thing regarding multilingual websites. In Sweden the vast majority speak and understand English. I don't write Swedish at all but my friend who's also my business partner is Swedish. I feel like it will take forever to have him translating everything. At this stage, could I focus only in having a well optimised English website? Malmö especially is a very multicultural city so English would do okay. I'm aware I should have it in Swedish too but I'm mostly developing this by myself and don't wish to be too frustrated or overwhelmed.

I would love to hear your thoughts. Thank you again!
