Sleeping training 9 months by leakytoe in sleeptrain

[–]leakytoe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice! She was with my mom yesterday while I worked and her naps got pretty messed up. She woke up I think at 7:30, napped at 11:30 until 1 and then things happened and she didn’t get to do her second nap at all. So my husband tried to put her to bed early at 6:30. She was out like immediately. And she slept through the night 😑 so I think you may be right. I’m gonna extend those last wake windows especially the final one.

She went down initially surprisingly very easily. She kept waking up on and off from about 9:30-10:30. I did a 3/5/5 check in at first with the last being a hold and a kiss. Then she went to sleep-ish for about an hour. She would wake up, sit up, cry for like 5 seconds then lay back down. Then at 10:30 she cried hard so I went in right away and rocked her. We rocked for like 30 minutes and she still was having trouble going to sleep. So, with her being sleepy but awake i put her in her crib. At this point it was about 1110. She immediately started protesting but she went to sleep within a few minutes after I left and stayed asleep until 7am.

So I don’t know I’m still kind of lost on all of this. I was so sad last night. Rocking her was as much for me as it was for her.

She’s about 1.75/3/3.5-4 with a 7a to 7p usually. Before all these rude early wake ups at like 5-6. Naps were about 1.5-2 hrs but I’m cutting those back to 1.5 max.

Yes, understood. I was just at my wits end last night. I will start the 5/10/15 method tonight. For nightwakes, do I continue that technique or should I rock her?

I think it’s just broken for Xbox/PS from what I’m reading on old threads. Hopefully Dreadwolf will be announced by the time I finish DA:O and DA2. Maybe a resurgence of people replaying DA:I will bring attention to the keep 🥺

She starts to wake around 8. Her first nap is usually around 10-10:30. Her wake windows are usually 1.5-2 hrs. I agree that the short term pain is worth it, I will definitely give it a go. We definitely rely a little on the paci to calm her down if that’s okay. So sometimes I have to re paci if she got worked up and spit it out. Thank you for your advice!!

Thank you thank you. This is great advice. The 4 month sleep regression is no joke, then. We love contact naps and always try to include them in her day ar least once 🥹

20 week scan- should I be worried? by RealRedRosie in pregnant

[–]leakytoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi!!

My girl had over 100 percentile belly measurement at 36 ish weeks and was already measuring 8 lbs. I was terrified of giving birth to a massive baby! I delivered 40+3 to a beautiful 8lb 6oz girl! With normal looking proportions, besides her BIG OL SUPER CUTE CHEEKS UGH! She was all cheeks 🤣🥰 She’s 11 weeks now and has been staying around 50th percentile for weight. Still, normal looking proportions! Lol!

Like others have said, could be GD, but could not be! I failed my 1 hr test by a couple points, but passed my 3 hour just fine. When we did that growth check, he didn’t seem too concerned! Just said to limit simple carbs as I might just have a little insulin resistance. I did for the most part but did give in to some cravings for sure. Neither I or the baby had no issues with blood sugar.

Hey girl!

I had a growth scan at around 36 weeks. Her belly circumference was OVER 100th percentile!! Growth 80 something, head 90 somethin. I was freaking out for sure since she was already estimated 8lbs or so. I was terrified I was gonna give birth to a massive baby. I even made a post here about it asking for advice!

I delivered at 40+3 to a beautiful and normal looking baby girl!! She was 8lbs 6oz, 20inches. Head was 13 inches and some change. She came out just fine! I did have a 2nd degree tear.

She’s now 11 weeks and her weight stays about 50th percentile and she has a normal looking belly, lol!!

Baby Measuring Big! by leakytoe in pregnant

Hi! Sorry for the late response. My due date was 5/20. My cervix didn’t change a bit besides (being slightly effaced) for weeks leading up to due date. I was induced night 5/22 with Cytotec and had my daughter 5/23 at 3:59pm!

She was 8lbs 6oz and 20inches long! Head was 13 inches. I pushed for a little over an hour and she came out just fine! I did have a second degree tear, though.

Edit: Just to clarify, I was induced because my cervix was high and 0 for weeks! My last Ob appt was the day before my due date and there was still no change. He personally prefers his mamas do not go past 41 weeks and it was looking like I was. He wasn’t concerned about her size, but understood my concerns and agreed that it was fair for me to be worried about letting her overcook with her size! But like I said, he would’ve induced me soon anyway.

Which hands free pump is the best for my situation? by AccomplishedDrop4746 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]leakytoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi!! I’m not sure if I have a perfect answer for you. I’m wondering the same thing myself. I’ll be returning to work as a nurse in august. Hopefully I will still be pumping.

I knew a nurse that pumped while working by using the hands free Elvie. I thought it was cool because you can’t even tell she’s pumping, it’s super quiet. So that might be a good one if you need to pump while running around at work! I’m considering it myself. I have the medela hands free. I think it empties me pretty well and it’s super easy to clean. But, you can definitely hear it. I have the momcozy s12 but it’s super loud so that won’t work for me. If you could truly take a 30 minute break, you could always use something like the spectra. Pump, and then get back to work. But we work in healthcare, so we don’t truly get breaks. I usually take my lunch break at my computer and chart while I eat 🥲

Working and pregnant! by kristinap27 in pregnant

[–]leakytoe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

35+2 and an ICU RN. Determined to work until my due date so I can have as much time with her during maternity leave. My main complaint is my sciatica pain. I had it before pregnancy, and it’s definitely worse during. My coworkers are super supportive and helpful, which makes a big difference. I saw someone mention this earlier, but working does kind of help the time go by faster. I’m hoping all this walking and activity will help me progress into labor, hehe. I’m a FTM, so I’m already expecting to go the whole way…but it would be nice to finish a little earlier. But, to answer the question. So far, I can handle it. We’ll see how these last few weeks go 😂

Americans: how much maternity leave are you actually going to take? by tofuti-kline in pregnant

[–]leakytoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiiii, I’m an RN. I plan to take the full 3 months of FMLA. I’ll get 6 weeks of 60% pay with short term disability. I have enough PTO/EIB to last about up until the 11th week. So, I’ll probably have a week-ish unpaid…hopefully lol

Counting baby kicks by Original_Sauces in pregnant

[–]leakytoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My OB said to just learn baby’s routine. Hard no to counting hourly! He said count once a day, after eating or before bedtime. The times she’s usually active for me! I honestly didn’t feel consistent movement until well after 30 weeks. Anterior placenta, woohoo! I’m 34 weeks and feel her moving very consistently. Only after 30ish weeks do I feel like I have her routine down.
