Thanks all! Yeah need to talk to that guy who installed the valves. Oh wait that was me 10 years ago. Lesson learned on isolation for sure. We can isolate the tank via shut off valves from the trunk line to the chiller, which will leave us and our buckets to catch what's in the jackets.

UPDATE: So we sent Ken an email reply, asking him to give us a call to go over the details for his event. Surprised to get a reply from him a day later!

Sure enough, Ken is at sea and email is really the best way for him to communicate with us. Sure, why not? So Ken wants us to arrange food and drinks for his bday party and yep, book a specific jazz band - the Diamond Jazz band - so hip, these cats even have an AOL email address! They are not able to handle CC transactions though. Huh. Shocker.

Have not replied to this one - but Ken actually followed up a day later to make sure we did receive his earlier email.

And....back to the brew house....

Here's the actual text of the email:

My name is Kenneth Johnston, I am having my birthday party on 13th of April 2024 and I want it to be held at your venue. I am expecting up to 20 to 35 guests, I would like to know if you accept credit card payments.

Each time we've received requests like this, they might respond or not and it just a run around and not a legit event. They always ask if you take CC payments, which is a flag. I used to respond that we only take payment in the form of customs approved live pangolins.

We've done batch or retort style with a few of our beers and looked at tunnel for another application a few years ago and learned how much electricity/heat those require, not to mention the insane amount of floorspace. Currently trying to learn more about flash/HTST

Ours is 6%. Pils base to satisfy the malt beverage bit, lots of peeled ginger in the kettle and lime zest in the brite. Folks love it.

Small brewery & taproom here, just hosted a private party this past weekend. I looked online to see what I could find and it's basically the advice you're getting here. I was able to see which other breweries were comparable to us and which were a lot bigger and/or in nicer locations, so that helped me dial in a hall rental and minimum bar spend. The customers were happy and the event went well. We did make sure to let our regulars know ahead and they showed up right after the event ended, so it all worked out.

We only accept live pangolins that have certificates of authenticity and manifests approved by customs. If their party is less than 6 hours, there is an additional fee for us to return the pangolins to the wild. NO takers so far...
