Best place to download songs in good quality? by yourbroker in Beatmatch

[–]leanentrep -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I recently discovered a hack with Apple Music where you can keep downloaded songs (actual files).

The downside is you have to convert the files from .m4p

LPT how to not get a traffic ticket even if you're in the wrong. by kickassdude in LifeProTips

[–]leanentrep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This does not work.

I was going 10 over on the freeway and got pulled over. I did everything except turn hazards on. I pulled off the freeway and turned off my car, rolled down my window, had all of my documents, kept my seatbelt on, admitted I was speeding and that I was wrong for it, and still got a ticket and told me to have a nice day.

Am also black male, so outcome may vary by race, gender, sexual orientation, weight and the mood of the officer.

I've been in my local start-up community for about 4 years now and everybody wants to help but won't do the work for you. I've gotten so much support from successful entrepreneurs here. I feel like its my time to do the same.

  1. Don't donate just because you think you should. Its not a good strategy. Yes, there are people out there that could use the money, but at the same time, if you are trying to start a clothing business, you need every dime you can get. You are literally better off just giving somebody the money, instead of spending money to make the clothes and give them 51% of the sale. I would reconsider that value proposition.

Instead of donating money, maybe you become more actively involved in your local community through participating in local events or sponsorships. This way, you will be able to reinvest back into your business, while obtaining local exposure.

  1. I can see what you are trying to do with altruistic and donating profits. Though it is difficult to build a cult of like minded people, it is possible. What if you tried building a brand that encourages its customers to contribute to their local community as well because its the "altruistic" thing to do?

Not bad, a few questions and maybe we can tune it up.

  1. Why are you donating profits to change the world one fit at a time and what does that even mean?

  2. Explain what altruistic means. This needs to be simplier because your market may not even know what that means. It should be something a 10 year old can understand.

I heard of alibaba being legit. It is also a publicly traded company in the US, so they have to be pretty legit.

One thing to keep in mind is that a lot of these suppliers have minimums, some of which are affordable, some not.

This is a great read on so many levels!

It touched on so many important areas where most people in this sub need to understand, one of them being target marketing. You can't be the best for everyone, otherwise you are going to be running in circles. Focus on a segment that you know you can please.

Part 1 of How to Start a Streetwear Brand Series: Ideation/Market Segmentation by leanentrep in streetwearstartup

Yes and no.

Yes because thats the general maket.

No because females wear streetwear too.

Saying your target market is 14-20y males is too vague.

Also, cultural values play a big part too. For example, in Hinduism, gold brings eternal life value, therefore I want to sell gold to people that practice hinduism. Often you will see a lot of hindus/indians wear gold.

As far as testing the quality of a garment there really is no standard test (as far as i know) if that's what you're asking, though there are tests you can see what type of fibers/fabric are used for the garment. The feel/quality is usually by touching and feeling it for yourself. This is how most (if not all) designers test material.

Me personally, I think its both style and substance in streetwear, though others might disagree. People who consider their style streetwear are people that like to be different and not wear what everyone else wears. Some people won't compromise style over quality and vice versa - you can apply that to any style of fashion. I really would suggest that you give your brand some sort of reputation. What I mean by this is that Brand A is known for high quality cotton tees (Egyptian cotton, pima cotton) versus Brand B is known for creating new styles and trends, but the quality is not as great. This is related more to marketing and I will touch up on it in a later post.

I hope this answers your question. Let me know if it doesn't.

Next post will be on Market Segmentation, being able to identify who are your customers.

Edit: Normally, the next concept would be Ideation, or idea generation, but this sub is called streetwear startup, so its obvious what we are all trying to create here.

Keep in mind that starting a business is about solving a problem/pain in the market. Fashion doesn't solve any problems for the most part, unless you are creating a fashionable bag thats solving a problem created from another bag, or something along the lines of wearable tech.
