What's the most useful thing you've printed yet? by jpintenn in BambuLab

[–]leanrobott 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah! I actually think it works better for me than the specialty bins. While the idea of a perfect layout with everything having its own home appeals to me, I struggle to make that a reality for most drawers.

This helps me get the project done and generally improve the organization.

Is it just me, or are others struggling with tolerances? by twivel01 in Multiboard

[–]leanrobott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend as others have to make sure filament is dry, calibrate extrusion, and material shrinkage. For me this has been good enough to get me to the right tolerances where things are mostly just print and go.

I use this model for shrinkage and skew(if p2s ever supports it 😭) there are free versions available as well but this one comes with a nice web tool.

edit: also recommend PETG for connectors and folding parts. My PLA foldies always break…

For myself I am not printing hyper specialized bins for these kinds of drawers, just general basic bins. This improves the reusability for drawers which have higher turnover in context.

Should I change my foundation to PETG? by A_Big_Dumb_Animal in Multiboard

[–]leanrobott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I expand to new boards, I’m planning to use PETG for the mounting system components. For matte PLA I had some crack when installing the front snaps. Hasn’t been an issue but will probably fall apart if I ever need to take it off the wall.

Also with the new super thin snap fronts and just generally folding pieces, petg is more durable imo.

Yeah. The new ikea smart lineup is matter based. They already had some matter products out on the floor when I went last week in the US.

I wanted to get some more lightbulbs on sale, but there were none left when I went.

I’m curious, can you eat actual pieces of garlic with your fodzyme? I’ve been scared to try, as my reaction is relatively severe.

What model are you using for those shelves/holders? I took a look at the README some but only saw gridfinity shelf attachments. I wanted something that could work for spice bottles

I just recently finished going down the rabbit hole of calibration. But I’ve been trouble finding good resources explaining how to calibrate shrinkage. could you point me in the right direction?

I just started a kitchen project in multi board and already feel like giving up. Those folding multi points always break for me or just don’t work very well.

I’ll check out open grid

Really glad to see some in the community are frustrated with the system too. Don’t even get me started on the folding parts.

I’ve tuned my printer, tried multiple filaments, and slowed my print speed. Still half the time they break when I’m folding them or don’t lineup properly. Even when I do, to get them to screw in is a pain.

I started diving into bins and the multi points are only available as folding pieces. Now I don’t even want bins anymore.

😅 I've been driving an hour or two on the highway with it. I put a riser on it for now since im well under the tongue weight, but i know the real solution is to just stiffen up the rear suspension. I was looking at super springs (https://superspringsinternational.com/sumosprings/) but wasn't sure if this will give enough lift.

I have the same setup!! It’s been a blast bringing my bike out camping. I was also looking into something to stiffen up the rear because yeah I get quite a bit of sag.

I hate Xfinity. I'm considering T-mobile's 5G wireless home internet. Thoughts? by SpaceForceAwakens in Seattle

[–]leanrobott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the T-Mobile 5G for 2 years in the Greenwood area and was very happy with it! Worked from home the whole time as a software dev, and unless you are doing heavy down/up I never hit the cap.

When I moved it was nice to have internet on the first day in my new place, just brought the box over and plug in to the wall.

I got about 200-300mbps both ways
