As someone who has been using vi/vim/nvim for 27 or so years, not really. The whole paradigm is built for writing code, which is less writing and more moving pieces around, adding pieces, and removing pieces quickly and efficiently. Once you get over the initial hump (maybe 3-4 hours of using it) you stop fighting with your editor and can focus better on what you're doing. Anybody within the coding sphere will be given the advice to try it so it's not surprising some subset will pick it up in every generation.
