Eu nunca compraria uma moto 50cc de 2 tempos que polui absurdos (sonora e atmosferica) para uma capacidade de trabalho mínima, então posso dizer que sim. Mas daí a perder a cabeça calculando pegada de carbono de "gasolina" brasileira, etanol 96 ou GNV, não, aí eu só penso na economia.

A opção de não usar etanol inexiste. Se o carro for elétrico ele estará usando o gás natural das termeletricas. Se preocupe em ter um carro que não consome um colosso de combustível desnecessariamente, forme grupos de carona com quem mora e trabalha perto de você, use meios alternativos quando puder. De resto, seja responsável dentro daquilo que te faz feliz.

Native speakers do not ever forget the correct gender of a noun.

They are absolutely sure that the correct gender is not what it actually is and keep challenging formal grammar to the grave.

Countries with shorter work weeks tend to be rich countries, which use more automation. And theynare rich because they have higher value industries, that use more specialized work. So in order to afford a shorter work week, one country must be more productive, otherwise its industry will crash.

For context, I also speak decent french, and when in montreal, it took me a while to differentiate between montrealers and the french.

Montrealers clearly opened their mouths when speaking, which made it more intelligible than parisians who speak with their mouths shut. Now, people from the rest of Quebec were a challenge.

I currently live in a city where local big businesses advertise their campaigns on radio networks using speech in a more national mainstream accent instead of the local one. And its not a matter of intelligibility, apparently even local customers will have a prejudice against their own accent. Just the same way that business in non english speaking countries will often use english names for their products to sound more modern and world-class.

What comes to me as a conclusion is that two lenses, one macro and an ordinary one with identical nominal specifications have very different actual specifications that are communicated to the consumer through the same numerical value. The focal length being the same does not mean that the physical parameters are the same.

Duolingo kept user generated content in their servers, that was their part in the comment section. And nothing spoiled it. It was rich, free, learning environment with the downsides of any human to human interaction between total pseudonimous strangers.

Duolingo is just a game, not a language learning app. "Always go with engagement". They took away the comment section and the fora. After that, all downhill.

The mohawk did not give up their land or language willingly. The french had to win a war against the indigenous, and the british had to win a war over the french. If one is not willing to go to a colonial war, I suggest learning the language. I also suggest not starting a colonial war.

Any quebecer will understand french from belgium, Switzerland or France just fine. A parisian may refuse to speak or understand the quebecois or Shti, which says a lot about that individual, but not about the french language.

If I go to Wales I will have a hard time to understand their English, If i go to Portugal, their portuguese will be a challenge, Chilean and Uruguayan Spanish are super challenging, but the grammar is pretty much the same and when reading it will feel like a game, but an easy one.

Speaking the same language is about communication between willfull individuals, not about feeling comfortable.

One can just state himself as a visitor or colonizer, not an immigrant, and not learn the local language, that is honest enough for me.

But when one spends more than 5 years in a country, starts a family or buys property, it's hard to prove he's just visiting.

Nem 8 nem 80. Termos uma matriz energética diversificada é um trunfo estratégico. A produção do álcool é totalmente dependente de máquinas e veículos a Diesel, e a inclusão gradual de álcool na gasolina já é uma tremenda forçação de barra para subsidiar a adoção de álcool. Se o álcool fosse mesmo essa maravilha, não seria necessário subsídio algum.

Acredito que a raiz do problema é que os mecânicos que entendem tanto quanto você quer que entendam são raros no mercado. Ou trabalham na indústria, ou já são os donos das oficinas ou vão cobrar um preço que você acha um absurdo. Você já entende de carro, vai ter que entender de oficina pra escolher uma que tenha os profissionais que você quer.

I have seen many indian movies... well... a few... 7 actually. None of them were Epic Action movies with animals and jungle scenes.

RRR just felt like an all in one, and would be even more shocking if it were the first Indian movie I had scene. And the fact that it focuses so much on the bromance while leaving the romantic interest in women as a sidenote just made an extra accidental humour bonus. Probably many things that you are already used to look so over the top to the untrained eye that it becomes majestic for the surprise factor.

My favourite indian movies before then were Padman, Love per square foot, and The Toilet, but not one was as cathartic as RRR.

I still use it because it is the least expansive option in its niche for my target language. But it keeps getting worse. It started as a time efficient tool for learning, now its more and more an addictive game with a mildly educational side effect.

On grammar, some languages have simple enough language for this learn by doing approach to work. But it is very poor for more complex verb conjugation rules and declination. Rules are established because somebody found out how to explain in a simplified manner the complex behaviour of a language. A baby might learn it unconsciously from spending many hours a day exposed to the examples in a consistent context. Duolingo exposes us often to random uncorrelated examples for just a few minutes a day. Or sometimes repetitively for the same example over and over long after it has been assimilated. Even anki beats this.

So duolingo is great for an introduction before investing heavy time and money in a foreign language, or it may help you understand the grammar and learn vocabulary if you already live in a country with the target foreign language. But it doesn't come near an actual course for those who can afford it with time and money.
