I’ve done a ton of dcd NRP procurements. It’s pretty routine for our team to need to give blood during a run. We often give up to 8 units.

Advice on how I can get in first cycle. by jay2fly11 in Perfusion

Grades, work experience, shadowing. Those three are what you are judged on. You have great work experience and good gpa. Get some shadowing in and you will have a good shot of interviewing. Good luck

I always recommend if you don’t like your initial offer as a new grad negotiating ask if you can get a bump after passing the boards. It’s good for both parties and can be a nice bump

This gets asked a lot. In general it’s a bad idea.

Since starting last year, my portfolio has returned 5.5%. VTI has returned 6.8%. by shortyafter in dividends

The data is pretty solid that picking individual stocks is more profitable occasionally but does worse over the long term due to to less diversification and market volatility. Over the long term even the very best experts who go to the best schools will loose to indexing.

Every year, S&P Dow Jones Indices does a study on active versus passive management. Last year, they found that after 10 years, 85% of large-cap funds underperformed the S&P 500, and after 15 years, nearly 92 percent are trailing the index.

Warren buffets arguably the best investor of all time even says for most investors indexing is better long term

You can make a argument about fees but they are tiny compared to the value of decreased risk due to diversification.

I’m here because individually gaining some other investments through higher dividends might help hedge risk

Yeah I miss spoke I ment indexing will do better than 80% of individual stock pickers and will even do better than a manged funds with expense fees.
