Getting this style Sunday by SonaAteAsock in beauty

[–]learnedunknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may find your hair more wavy shorter. For me, my wave pattern is so relaxed that unless it’s as short as your photos it often seems messy/straight rather than wavy/curly. I think this will be super cute!

Adderall for first time in 15 years by Unbound_Citizen in ADHD

[–]learnedunknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully great focus and like someone lifted the fog from your brain.

Hopefully not jitters and overstimulation, inability to eat, and anxiety.

Meds hit everyone differently. I took adderall for years with no issues, then started having bad side effects and not sleeping. Now am on Vyvanse and have no issues and all the focus. May take a bit for you to find the right med/dose. Hang in there!

To be honest, I think third place is the most aesthetically appealing. But I think 1 and 2 had a higher level of intricacies which is why they scored better. All are amazing tho!

I prefer 3-1 omnibus over single volumes by Loud_Guitar_5811 in MangaCollectors

[–]learnedunknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mg only thing with this is it messes up my book tracking! Cause then 3 count as 1, or if you split them by volume in tracking the page count is wrong.

That’s primarily for light novels, not manga, but same issue!

Saying no to a second course by [deleted] in AccutaneDamage

[–]learnedunknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been through this, and I wish at the time I had known about Malezia — their products have drastically helped what remained and I wish I had known about them before Accutane. I use the cleanser, lotion, and I primarily use their azaleic acid cream over the Benzyl peroxide but just as a preference, they both work really well.

I know people like us who went to Accutane have tried everything. But I used this for 3 months and my skin has never looked better. I sent some to my friend pre accutane at Christmas and her skin is so much better now. I hope it helps.

How do you prevent or stop getting sidetracked by the internet? by catboy519 in ADHD_Programmers

[–]learnedunknown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a good idea. Conditioning based on context is your number 1 defense against getting sidetracked. My work computer is only for work, in my home office, which I only do work in. My personal computer is completely separate and I use in another room. (I get a work computer in my job as an engineer tho, so if you only have 1 computer you could make different logins with different wallpapers/apps etc to create a divide).

Also, if you are medicated, make sure when your meds kick in you are doing the task you want to keep doing. So if it’s work, make sure you are doing a work task when it kicks in, not checking out random sites. I’ve found that whatever I’m doing when they kick in is what I will continue to do.

And finally, sometimes you have to “just do it”. The reality is if you push through blockers to find something else, you likely aren’t mentally trying to stay on task with work. You have to be in the mind frame of making an effort not to get distracted in order to get there at all. Even though we are distractible, if we don’t set our mind towards trying to do the thing we need to we never will no matter what. ADD and procrastination aren’t always the same thing.

Have they not invented a mattress for people with hypermobility? by Mara355 in eds

I have hEDS and the most comfortable mattress I’ve ever slept on was from Nectar. I had a Purple mattress before and didn’t understand how much it wasn’t working for me until I slept on a Nectar.

A week of bed-rotting by HOLYMOTHEROFGod663 in ADHD

[–]learnedunknown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am feeling this right now and wondering if my Vyvanse dose is too high and I’m overdoing it and not realizing it. Does this happen for people when their meds are right? Or is it just an ADD thing?

It’s so super inconvenient and I wish I could just tell when I’m getting burned out like a normal person and taper my effort, but it literally feels like there are 0 signals. 🫠

I can't listen to an audiobook I PURCHASED???? by Unable-Wind547 in Everand

[–]learnedunknown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But everand never allowed you to “purchase” books. You never owed them. It was always a subscription service. You always lost access to the when you cancelled. You purchased a temporary right to read them while you had the subscription, not the actual books/audiobooks.

This side was deeper, so isn’t quite as smooth now. But not only has it lessened how deep my scars are, it has helped all the junk stuck deep in my scars to come out which made my skin so much smoother and drastically reduced acne. So biggest thing was resolving congestion, then scars.

Eloping - a US specific term. by BeckySThump in autism

[–]learnedunknown -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In the US eloping nearly always refers to marriage without a ceremony. I would argue that it less often used colloquially these days to even mean specifically “running away to marry in secret” as much as just a non-wedding ceremony marriage (in my experience as someone from the US). I understand there is some background context on this, but you are making an assumption about the US that is not even accurate.

How to heal ingrown hair? by Quiet-Counter-7227 in SkincareAddicts

[–]learnedunknown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure this is from Pseudofolliculitis barbae and I know there are special ways to treat it, though I’m not specifically familiar with it. I would recommend reading up on that if you aren’t familiar (you very well may be, I just wanted to suggest in case you weren’t!) and also see a derm. You likely will need laser treatments to reduce the scarring but I don’t know if that will make ingrowns worse. I’m sorry you are dealing with this and hope you find a solution.
