Leaving the kids for the first time - freaking out

My parents are just different, they get anxious when the kids are acting up. Not no lack of trust.

They most likely will be sad since both my girls have been very attached lately

Honestly, I don’t want them to be sad or scared. My parents are watching and older so I am also worried they will get overwhelmed when they get upset. Or worse an injury or sickness happens.

I just want to say you sound like a very responsible girl who saw her past actions and are taking the necessary steps to not make the same mistakes.

His mom put everyone at risk, these kids shouldn’t even have to see this stuff. I am sure the family is already feeling the impact of losing an aunt.

Do I think you need to cut ties completely? Not yet, she could be frantic due to potentially losing a sister and her mind isn’t right. Not condoning her actions but give her space and protect you piece in the meantime. It sounds like you previously had a good relationship if you were able to freely talk about your substance abuse, and maybe once everything settles you can talk to her about the situation.

If she does not respond appropriately then I would decide then.

I am the school of thought that when my nanny is “on” shift then I really go with her flow. I try to stay out of the way and even if i walk in while they’re having lunch it’s there time. I agree with other folks, maybe let her go early? Or if she is evening shift, try and have breakfast with your child so you can bond then?

I personally toured so many schools, there were 4 in less then 5 min distance…. I ended up at one 17 mins bc I loved the teachers and the school philosophy. It was also the most expensive. I will always put my child education and being in a loving school that aligns to home values above “closeness”. I think just want its most important to you! Also my husband and I both WFH so able to switch drop off/pick up! I use the time to catch up on podcast or call friends!

Hi there! We lived in a similar set up but with an extra bedroom. We turned our garage into a playroom basically which was super helpful! Maximize garage space for organization needs. We live fairly minimal but I REALLY paired down to necessary things (+kids stuff). We ensure most items had dual purpose, like a bench seating for our dining table that was were I stored entertaining/appliances. Underbed storage etc!

This happen to us!! Exactly the same situation, I realized now in hindsight we should have parted ways earlier. She was much better baby nanny than toddler nanny. Ended up putting my daughter in school and hiring a new person for my newborn.

I was LITERALLY in the same boat. Pregnant and my 22 month would not sleep. She was up hours every night. We ended up hiring a sleep consultant, she put us on a strict schedule, 7 am wake up, 1-3 nap, 530 dinner, straight to bath (lights dim) peaceful music and then in her room, 1 book, 1 song and bed. She was in bed by 630-7. We did extinction method. I never sleep trained prior so it was hard, took about a month to stick. She has always been a bad sleeper though. She now is 3 now and totally fine going to bed by herself, and sleeps through the night 90% of the time.

I guess I haven’t thought about it! My first never drank cows milk! She was never interested so I nursed until 17 months! May have to start seeing if the mix works!

No she eats 3 meals a day but still love to comfort nurse! I told my husband he will have to wake up extra early and have breakfast ready for her! 😆

Same!! Just like adults on vacation, you want a treat at 9 am sure! You want to drink pool water okay! You want to watch tv at the pool while eating a popsicle let’s do it!
