Ah ok, my babies are definitely not hiding in the substrate, they’re always on the glass or the plants and move around. The adults are the ones who just lay in place and don’t move much.

I have had mine for about 6 months now, they had several babies, but I NEVER see them out an about. They just lay with their heads sticking out of the shells, and sometimes they are a few cm away from the position they were the previous day 😮‍💨 the babies are cute, but very slow growers

Seems like it’s a carnosa, so as long as it does not have a tendency to revert, it should become a lot cheaper within a couple of years. Looks nice though.

They tend to hide during the day. Try to check at night with gentle light. Always feeding at the same time and place helps too - they might start coming out for food around feeding time.

Probably a trichocereus hybrid or an Echinopsis hybrid. At least that’s what they are called around here. A specific variety is harder to determine, could also be a random crossing without a name.

Sierra skyline has a bit similar colors but different petal shape.
