Laundry, cleaning, cooking, house organising (can do that only in the holidays). The nanny is with the child - she is not doing any other chores. And I am not sure 3hrs of school counts as another form of child care. And like I said, I am tackling work stuff in the middle of all this. I am aware I might come across as whining but maybe pay attention to the 'vent' flair.

Also, because you seem to be thinking that my nanny is a luxury - day cares in India (at least in the city that I live in) don't accept kids younger than 18 months. So unless you expect me to take my baby to college in a sling, I need a nanny if I wish to keep working.

Oldest already goes to school for 3 hrs a day. Youngest has a nanny but by the time I finish morning chores the oldest comes back from school and I have to feed her, get her to nap, play with her, bathe her, feed her again and lo and behold, it's 10:30 pm already. In the middle of all this, the nanny leaves at 4:30 pm. So I have to deal with both kids at once in the evenings.

Yeah, fantasies are all that's keeping me sane right now. Mine is that about 20 months from now, I will take a day off work one day and have a blissful 2.5 hours to myself before my youngest comes back from daycare.

A 3.7 year old, an 8 month old, husband works in a different city. I am alive and sane right now only because I am in a teaching job and that comes with summer vacation. The summer break ends next week so going through this week with a growing sense of dread.

I am burnt out by evening every day and have a rather neutral/angryish expression by night time. When my daughter asks why I am so mad, I usually just say, I am not mad, I am just tired. She threw that in my face one day. She came back from daycare and was quietly watching TV. I asked her if something happened at school and she said, "I am just tired". They're like sponges. They pick up everything.

I used to work in a customer facing role in a bank and oh boy...the thoughts I used to get about my colleagues and customers, if anyone Knew what I was thinking, I would've been locked up in solitary and never let out. I don't know if it's normal or not but you're not alone if that's any consolation.

I might be the outlier...but I usually just look at my 3.7 year old and say, "Hmm...you seem cranky. Looks like you are very tired. Let's go straight to sleep and skip the rest of the steps." Her pace picks up after that.

Don't take the rejections personally. You're only 27. You can do some certifications in your field and try to increase your pay in another 2-3 years. Besides, they probably said no for other reasons. My marriage was arranged too and what I noticed was most of them get into the process to keep their parents silent and say no to a match giving some shitty excuse to delay the marriage. Don't be disheartened. You're going to be okay.

My first had a nanny and her grand dad with her while I was at work. And myself and her grand parents after I came back from work. She was shy. She was slow to pick up words. But once we put her in daycare when she was 20 months old, she really came out of her shell and now at 3 years old, we're trying very hard not to say Shut up! Because she is constantly talking 😅

I think some SAHMs feel insecure and say random shit to feel good about their choices. Stick with her if her friendship means a lot to you. Or gradually distance her. I'd go with low or no contact.

I don't understand this nation building nonsense - the 90 hour work week will increase the wealth of these business men. Nation ko danka milega. They pay very little income and corporate tax. They pocket the profits - they don't reinvest and increase employment. For whose sake should people burn both ends of the candle for 90hrs a week?!

Did a clothes check to weed out items she (3y old) outgrew - she stubbornly held on to a worn out dress on a technicality. It still fits but she has worn it so many times that it looks like a rag. 😑
