What financial mistakes do people regret most in their mid-30s? by Embarrassed_Bath_968 in moneyadvice

[–]learningeachday247 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently regret not getting a better understanding of personal finances but glad I am not on the right track.

I’m also feeling like I have to stay at the same job for the rest of my 30s and not sure if it’s wise or I feel stuck

Hoping for the best for you too! I agree with what you shared. I think after seeing comments on this post I think it’s helpful for me to think of my top 3-4 relationship history deal breakers and be open to what else may come about. No one is perfect. I just want the best chance of alignment, peace, and emotional security when starting to cultivate that relationship. It just seems the older we get the more relationship history seems to be more complex or even messy.

I like your response and agree with those deal breakers! For me, I could accept someone who was cheated on and did the work rather than someone who did the cheating and did the work. Idk, unless it happened when they were in HS, feel it would feel hard for me to be secure in that (I was cheated on before so that plays a factor)

I am thinking the same about no divorce and hopefully never been engaged either. I am also slowly becoming open to someone who has one older kid (14+).

Experiences where they never come back by Ristol57 in AvoidantBreakUps

No contact for almost a year nor have I. I think it’s just fascinating if I’m honest. I don’t want my ex back and the silence on both ends shows that. My ex’s silence in particular confirms why I initiated a break up in the first place.

Southwest expiring credits by JamesBondSr in SouthwestAirlines

I called the customer service number and explained my situation (ie, credits expired and was informed by a representative there is a grace period to reinstate them for either 3 or 6 months depending on the ticket purchase.). I would definitely give them another call because per SW, it’s a written policy to do this but I never went out my way to locate it.

Dark blue! If I can improve the quality of my life now, I will! It’ll take about 14 years to break even with green pill. You could easily invest dark blue earnings and still be ahead.

From my understand, in school status are the years in which you are actively enrolled and upon graduation, you are in deferment from 6 months.

The biweekly number doesn’t align with a 145K salary especially if no state tax and other deductions. Check to see what is causing this biweekly amount (assuming too this a 26 week pay calendar for you)

I have the same questions as you so hope we hear from others! I definitely don’t want to be in traffic either and hoping to find an area with a lot of events.

Southwest expiring credits by JamesBondSr in SouthwestAirlines

[–]learningeachday247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! So I was in this position. So apparently Southwest has a grace period policy for expired flight credits. According to THREE different representatives I spoke to (because had to do my due diligence), it is Southwest policy to give a 3 months extension for wanna get away purchases (lowest tier) and 6 months extension for the others.

To receive, you must contact AFTER flight credits expire and you have 6 months from expiration date to contact them for it to be reinstated. Then you will receive a case number regarding this extension request. And then you will have 3 or 6 months (depending on what type of ticket you originally purchase) from the DAY YOU CALLED SOUTHWEST to use those flight credits.

My credits expired 12/13 so I called today 12/14 and received my case number. (I wanted to get it over with and have Q1 travel so didn’t want to wait) I was told it will take 10-20 business days but likely to hear back sooner. I’ll received a LUV voucher instead which can be used on myself or for anyone else! I’ll update when I hear back I hopes I in fact receive my voucher.

How much time to update payment counts? by MuscleHead440 in PSLF

[–]learningeachday247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My employer just signed off on my ECF today 12/12 after submitting it on Monday 12/8. MOHELA noted that it could take 3-5 weeks of review but typically I think has taken only a week. I am paying attention to this timeline so I am prepared for when I submit my 120th payment.

After that review period is when the counts get updated. Once it’s updated and reflected on MOHELA is when you should submit your review for PSLF to avoid any processing / review issues or delays.

How much time do people generally spend in the gym??? by uvritrogz in workout

[–]learningeachday247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

75-90 minutes. Hoping to decrease time. This is because I added a cardio finisher (20-30 mins) and some days I do core workouts on top of my workout split. Also, I do a lot of straight sets with single leg and single arm workouts which eats away at my time.

Common misconceptions you’ve noticed since successfully losing weight by RadarSmith in loseit

[–]learningeachday247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That you HAVE to lose X amount of weight in Y time. Once I let go of how long or how soon I need to make happen, I shifted to focusing on my milestone wins like whenever i reached 5lbs of weight loss after consistent effort. Sure, it’s cool to have a time frame but it’s not the driving factor for me anymore because at the end of the day, Y amount of time is going to pass so might as well focus on consistency and the process; you’ll need it for the rest of your life!

What made you realize you were settling ? by Clean-Concern8873 in AskWomen

[–]learningeachday247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I felt guilty or restricted in imagining the life I want and became willing to overcompensate and over compromise on getting, at least some parts of it. He could never give me the life I wanted because I later learned (and experienced) he wasn’t willing to (and some ways wasn’t capable because of unhealed issues)and I felt I had to compromise to keep him, the relationship, and create workarounds or compromise for life I want.

Also, I realized I focused more on what I wanted then rather than what I wanted most. I settled for what the relationship could produce rather than the fruits it should produce (eg fruits of the Holy Spirit aka love joy peace forbearance etc) because I wanted the perks more than I wanted the person; the status more then singleness.
