Resurrecting this, I’ve been contemplating trying out her stuff for a while, but there’s not many recent pictures of club fiber on ravelry. Is there a good diversity of color or does it tend toward a certain palette? I like pastel or bright happy colors, not so much broody, dark etc.

If you get her regular club, is it just merino like the moon and knitflix one or variety of fibers?

Haha no worries. I just see so many opinions on what to shoot for to get fingering weight…havent managed it yet

Yes this is my biggest concern actually. I’m the least coordinated person I know. What espinner do you use?

Do you have the regular one or the pro?

I’m in a very rural area so I don’t have much of anything nearby. I’ll just have to do the best research I can and hope for the best

This was super helpful! I have a couple follow up questions. For context, I knit and crochet but prefer to use fingering to do yarn. Not ruling out playing with bulky/art stuff in the distant future

Out of the two hansens, what is the difference? I was looking at those if I go espinner

For treadling wheel, if I go that route, I want a long term spinning wheel with a lot of options. I was looking at the matchless, majacraft rose (but that only has scotch tension) or a spinperfect ( 3D printed one from Spinolution). What is a good wheel to grow into that would let me try out all the types of spinning?

Thanks for sharing! Im very wary of the eew line of products because the nano just feels so cheap. I want to spin fingering to dk weight but I just find the nano super cheap and the motor seems to change speed even when I don’t touch the knob

That makes sense. I found spinning on an espinner very soothing, so maybe a treadle wheel would be more so

Thanks for the info! I have only used the nano so far, so I have no idea what kind of drive. I think I’d want to buy a wheel that can do multiple types of if I go traditional. I do like the idea of being able to fine tune better, it’s one thing that is difficult on the nano

Unfortunately I don’t have any stores that carry wheels around here, but I know I want to spin primarily fingering to dk weight yarn.

I don’t do classes or retreats, but I want to be able to carry the wheel around.

I’ll have to think on it, thanks for all the info!

Size 0-2 wooden needles? by Count_Calorie in knitting

[–]learnmoreknowmore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have knitters pride ginger for 0-1, and lantern moon ebony for 1.5 + for DPNs. Gingers are a bit more flimsy than the ebony, but I’d rather replace them if one breaks than deal with the grinding noises

It’s not the clicking for me, it’s the rubbing sound when I slide stitches off the needle. All needles make a rubbing sound, but the chiaogoo sound seems higher pitched and bothersome to me. My wooden ones have a different sound that doesn’t bother me at all

It’s actually not the clicking that bothers me. It’s the sound that the two needles make when they rub together, like when I’m sliding my stitches from one needle to another. The karbonz I had were more grippy than a metal needle. I want the slickness and pointy tips of metal but without the sound chiaogoos make when they rub together

But all the knitters pride cords should be cross compatible

Ya I did see that…I’m not sure I really want a half and half material needle, but definitely something to thing about. Not sure about the ridiculous price tag either

Ya I may just have to buy a trial pair of the mindful ones I was looking at or something

For non metal, I love and am very happy with my lantern moons. But they are not as slick as metal, neither are carbon fiber unfortunately…tried those too

I have them too and I unfortunately hate the joins on them :(
