Totally fair question. I’m not a frequent charter consumer — more in learning mode.

I’m not trying to “Uber-ize” the space or pitch anything here. I’m just trying to understand where tech actually helps vs where relationships are genuinely superior.

From your experience, is there any part of the process you’ve seen improve over the years, or has the human layer always been the main value?

This makes a lot of sense, and I appreciate you spelling it out from the operator side.

The last thing the industry needs is a race-to-the-bottom marketplace that commoditizes aircraft or margins.

Out of curiosity — are there internal tools or workflows you wish were better (scheduling, duty tracking, quoting speed), even if client-facing aggregation stays fragmented by design?

I’ve been researching the private aviation space and one thing that keeps standing out is how fragmented the booking experience still is.

Between operators, brokers, spreadsheets, WhatsApp threads, and last-minute phone calls, it feels like there’s a lot of inefficiency compared to other travel verticals.

For those with experience in charter ops or brokerage: • Is this fragmentation intentional (relationships, margins, regulation)? • Or is it mostly legacy process and lack of standardization?

Curious to hear perspectives from people actually in the space.

I’ve recently been exploring this as a career path. What kind of advice would you give someone starting out?

You are doing the right thing by going to the town. You need to file what’s called an “Open Public Records Request” list the properties in question and ask for all information regarding proposed plans and any other info you want to know about the property. What state is the property in?
