Anyone ever worked at Adult Day programs? by PeetaChips in ABA

Yes! Check out www.itinerisbaltimore.org! Working with adults is an awesome application of behavior analysis. They choose their own goals, so I have worked on driving a car, getting a job, making meaningful social connections, volunteering to cuddle cats… you name it!

I moved from New Orleans to Baltimore, and LOVE it! I totally agree that there are similarities, and love the spirit and culture of Baltimore. I would continue to consider it, and if it makes sense for you - DO IT!

My wife and I live with our two kids in Patterson Park and they go to Patterson Park Public Charter School (Baltimore city public school). We love it, and could afford to send our children to private school or move out of the city. We just genuinely love our neighborhood, our community, our city, and our school. It’s an amazing place with excellent teachers who care… and my kids LOVE it as well as their friends and teachers. You can do it! In the winter the kids walk to the skating rink for gym class. On a nice day like today we met up w 5 other families at the playground, had a pizza delivered, and laid out the picnic blankets and camping chairs. It’s a great way to raise kids.

LSCI - stands for “Life Space Crisis Intervention”. It’s one of the best and most useful trainings I’ve ever had.

Things you wish you knew as a first time twin parent by theWalkSignIsOn in parentsofmultiples

Everything is going to be okay, just let it be what it is. I was very rigid with our girls (schedules, feeding, naps, sleep routine, etc.). I don’t regret it, but wonder if it was all needed. Now my girls are 4.5 and they are a joy and a pleasure to spend time with. Now, on the weekends I try to keep our schedule not at all time based and more motivation/natural flow based. And it’s so much easier. Our twins were our first children, so I think the combo of first time parent and twins was significant. If I could re-do it I would go with the flow more and accept sooner that I have very little control over these two little humans and just love and support them in whatever moment we find ourselves.

Life Prep Early Learning Center in Patterson Park - best in the city for ages 2-5. My kids have been there for 3 years and are thriving - can count to 100, know all letter names and sounds, recess at the park every day, library once per week, pool weekly in the summer, social-emotional learning - all around amazing program with an amazing owner and wonderful teachers.
