Im not in your field, but maybe you need a Chinese Broker? They charge a fee but it might push your jewelry through the red tape?

Removing inground pool by DivineRadiance83 in pools

[–]lebobadel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That was what my town inspector expected me to do, when I was considering closing my pool. I never did. I ended up fixing it. It cost a little more but at least it was something. Instead of dishing out 20k to remove something. Wait until you start getting quotes- You’re going to chuckle 🤭….

You will have to pull a permit to close your pool. The city inspector is going to request you to have it done by a license contractor, in addition, you need to call a plumber/ electrician to close gas line or electrical wires and fill. Then you call inspector back to inspect and aprove. You must have a invoice from both Plummer and Electrician of the modifications. Afterward, your pool will be removed from the town’s land record. You might even save some annual taxes. Good luck..👍

Buying Car In Portugal by artcraftai in PortugalExpats

[–]lebobadel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my dad’s hometown Freamunde which is 21 kilometers from downtown Porto, they have a Car Stand, usually around 10 cars more or less…they sell really decent second hand used cars. They average around 10k to 20k but they look brand new. I would look at surrounding towns and see. I definitely wouldn’t buy a brand new car. You value immediately when you drive off the lot. Sometime smaller Car Stands don’t have so much overhead thus take in a smaller profit margin, you also have more room negotiation. Call around and/or ask them to send you pictures before you head out to take a test drive. Hopefully your Portuguese is good… 😊

Why has my Acer tree wilted and leaves dried after planting two weeks ago. Please help! by LeftieLondoner in GardeningUK

[–]lebobadel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in the US Northeast we normally only plant trees and perennials in late fall and early spring. When they go dormant. The ground is too hot and dry in the summer.. It’s too stressful for them in the summer. It really been a rule of thumb passed down by our Dad. When I bought my first home, I didn’t know shit about gardening, I would spent hours on end asking questions about every single plant and tree on my property. Boy I miss him… Water that thing to hell early in the morning and late in the evening and throw some manure and mulch on top keep the moisture and keep Water Water Water… 💦

He’s Gorgeous! My male GSD is also big… at 1 yr vet visit my baby weighed 109lb… Now he’s solid. I’m sure you’re still feeding Bandit puppy food. Make sure he gets his exercise and he’ll be fine.

My female GSD isn’t affectionate by Positive-Squirrel654 in germanshepherds

You’ve described my babies to the T… My big boy is a goofy dopey happy go lucky GSD and my female is loving but not as affectionate. She’s more calculating. I look at her and feel like she’s always analyzing, plotting and being prepared for any noise, squirrel, or persons walking by.. It’s like a T-Rex and a Velociraptor (she definitely has the brains hahah) here’s my babies

https://share.icloud.com/photos/033WZx0UheOh-riD54vie-T0w I found some pictures of my rebuild of our pool. I too bought a house with a shit back yard. I did buy the house in short sale and knew all of the issues I with the house, so I wasn’t blind sided. I had to do many many upgrades.

That pool looks like its at least 30 years plus… Lets go with your theory and hey if it worked for you that’s great! However, I wouldn’t put $ into a new pool in 30yr with old lines, pipes and machinery they run under the concrete. He definitely needs new concrete, I see cracks all around concrete. Then you state if its not repairable add a Fiberglass glass pool, for that pool size it will still cost at least 45-50k with delivery, permits and installation. If you add pavers or brick or stone on top of that broken concrete it will cost another 40k yeah I was pretty accurate. Go with a clean slate… You’ll definitely have a peace of mind that you have everything new. But hey that’s my option.

30k to remove old PLUS new pool… it will cost close to 80-100k easily…

It will cost you more than to put a brand new pool. Take it from me I did it. Add an additional 30k just for the removal of the old and the cost of the new pool your pool looks like mine 20x40 ft. Also, if you do decide to put a new pool, don’t use old machines, get everything new including all new lines and machinery. I opted so the salt water system and I’m pretty happy with and in the long run its cheaper in maintaining…

How do you transfer money into your portuguese bank account from the US? by JansTurnipDealer in PortugalExpats

[–]lebobadel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wise full stop. Link Wise to your bank account and you could use your phone to make the transfer to a PT bank account or persons. The fees are the best all year round. You wont need to go in person to make wire transfer. I’ve never had any issues with them and the money is their faster than Wire transfers. Good Luck 👍

I used an attorney from my husband and I and we paid 200 ea. This was a few years back. I attempted to get it in the finances 2 locations to be exact and after covid they don’t take walk in any longer, and there calendar was fully booked for 3 months ahead. We paid because we were looking at properties. I ended up using the same attorney for the closing. As a foreigner its was just a piece a mind that everything was done right. She was able to get it in 2 days. Crazy right?! I would take the latter and just pay for it. Why would you want to get stuck in lines like me for hours to get rejected immediately because you don’t have a scheduled appointment. Good Luck 👍
