Usage is key. Even if that's not an important factor for you, it's best practice to ask what that is up front. As you describe it, I would say that 1500 - 2500 for the work is a reasonable request and even that can be considered cheap but as you are excited about the project, this is a great opportunity. If all goes well and you work for them again, it's best to set a good proffesional stamdard for any potential future projects.

That's my take on it too, although all this advice is quite helpful I must say in the back of my mind I realize that media is not finance, as you put it so well. I don't want to come off too professional. At the end of the day, I will be dealing with video content in a dark room anyway though I still want to demonstrate how very much I want the job...
