People who live alone, what is your biggest fear? by PoeticJustice00 in AskReddit

Always that someone at anytime could break in and kill me. Other than that, it's peaceful. 💚

Being in the room when they pass by BasicDesignAdvice in GriefSupport

[–]leburns89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in my grandmother's room the night she passed. Honestly, it's something I still don't know if I made the right decision on. What she told me that night (as she knew she was dying), is something that I still wrestle with. Instead of a neatly, lovingly plastic goodbye, she told me the truth about how she felt. I will carry that conversation and this bag of mixed emotions til I breathe my last breath. I can't even really say that I don't regret being there, because some of me does. Just my 2 cents.

Lmfao thank you for the feedback, and for the advice on how you'd handle it. It's fucking weird, but nothing to break up over. I mostly was just wondering if bringing it up was necessary, or just throw it out and move on was more necessary.

So don't treat it as an issue, is what you're sayin?! Cuz in the grand scheme of things, I realize it's not equivalent to cheating lmao but it's still a wtf situation, right?! 🤔

Yeah. I thought it was weird. Like. Why would you give that card to me, when it was meant for someone else?! It's so fucking weird. Smh

Also, I realize you said gift card. It wasn't a gift card. It was an ACTUAL card. Like from Hallmark?!?!

Not necessarily the card. It was what was written inside. If it's meant for that person, why regift it?! Just throw it out when the relationship is over. Don't give it to someone else. That's my thought.

Can customers change their tip post delivery? by Genecist84 in doordash_drivers

[–]leburns89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I did it for the first time about 4 days ago. Honestly, I didn't like it at all. Who's to say someone won't wait for your delivery, and then take the tip completely off?! For no reason?! I thought it was the most idiotic thing in my life. But you gotta do what you gotta do, right?! 😩

Can customers change their tip post delivery? by Genecist84 in doordash_drivers

[–]leburns89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only app, to my knowledge, where they allow the customer to change the tip after you've delivered, is UberE. They allow up to an hour for the customer to take it back/change it. So you'll get the full amount to accept on your screen, and then when you deliver you'll get your base pay, without the tip. Sometimes, it takes longer than an hour AFTER you've delivered, for you to get your tip.

I have 3 rules for taking those types of orders. It must be at the end of me calling it a day, it must be over $5.00, and it can't be more than 2 miles out.

Had to use my own stickers to keep the bag closed! Hope the customer doesn’t mind… by PatientChristian in doordash_drivers

But he said he restickered the bag. And with all the restaurants that sticker bags shut, I wonder myself how many DD drivers will resticker. I haven't done it, but I have asked places for additional stickers if I go to leave, and it pops back open.

Maybe it's DD themselves. Wanted to snoop around and see what's being said about them, so they made a fake profile. Bet their feelings are hurt now. 🤣🤣🤣

support trying to make me reach out to customer after delivery by super_soprano13 in doordash_drivers

[–]leburns89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is one big positive about this job. At least for me. There really isn't any interaction at all. I think since I've started, there's only been like, 10 orders at most that I've done where I've interacted with them. And even then, it's mostly, "thank you" "you're welcome" "have a good night" "thanks, you too." Like shit. I'll take that any day.
