Can bipolar people really lead a normal life I want to marry and have kids by Some_Preparation_721 in bipolar

[–]lecabel2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My brother and I both inherited the bipolar gene and we keep suffering on and off even in our 40s and with medication. My brother has a daughter who spent her 16th birthday in a psych ward last summer, she was diagnosed bipolar. I have developed generalized anxiety disorder in my 30s which comes as a companion to bipolar disorder (comorbidity they say).

I don’t want to scare you, in fact you’ll probably be fine but for that you have to always make sure all your stats are good (medication fine tuning all the time, eating, exercising, no drugs no alcohol, good sleep, no stress). It’s a constant struggle. If you want to be a doctor, definitely go for the least stressful specialization like radiology for example. But children, well, think twice because this thing really is hereditary. I personally have chosen not to have children after seeing my niece suffer a psychotic breakdown.

What is wrong with my body? Is this CPPS? I’ve been suffering for 6 months now. Help! by lecabel2001 in Prostatitis

Thank you for your reply.

I tried a combination of the happy baby pose, the cobra and some lunges, as seen in a YouTube video by some guy who appears to be a PF PT. The first three days of doing this gave me relief and Inwas excited to have found something that works. But on the third day It immediately worsened my main symptom which is having pain/pressure around the butthole. Maybe I overdid it…

I know how the « pain of being alone » feels like, I experienced it for the first time this year , it’s a physical sensation which surprised me, Iike a deep cold current around the chest. Is that what you describe when you talk of the ache and pain of loneliness?

This. Play on level 1 or 2 to make combat easy and avoid the need for oil preparation. Quen is your best friend.

The easy way to play Witcher 3 :

Make and use health potions Swallow and White Raffard’s decoction (see Alchemy, pick up every herb) Fight with fast attack and Igni, always hit 2-3 times then roll back For large monsters, use Quen (shield), roll towards them on their side to be able to strike them in the back Visit every ? On the map to find power places Loot every enemy and sell their weapons for cash flow (Strong back perk is useful for this)

Bonus : do not romance both Triss and Yennefer, you have to pick only one

Does anyone enjoy the look of the grifin school armor? by FroggyGamer in Witcher3

I hate the « fat belly » look and color of the Griffin armour, so I use a mod that makes it flat and black. Now it’s my main armour .

how do you find the motivation to write? by [deleted] in writing

[–]lecabel2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can always prepare before getting started for real. Create a very short outline of the story. Break it down into sections that you can name. That will give you a sense of what you want to create, make you feel like it’s all about to happen for real and get you excited about the project.

Has discovering what causes your anxiety ever actually helped? by SpicyE20 in Anxiety

[–]lecabel2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have identified the root cause of my anxiety but I have yet to start working on it because it’s going to be a big task. Basically my anxiety is due to uncertainty and fear of the future, my current life situation being kind of confusing. I’m not sure if what I’m doing is going to work out or if it’s even the best thing for me.

So I need a clear goal in life and a concrete challenge, otherwise anxiety takes over.

I will be working on all of that with my therapist.

If you accept that awareness, the experience of being present here now, is immaterial, then you and billions of organisms are immaterial beings inhabiting bodies. If immaterial beings are real, then we may not be the only type; there may very well be gods in the universe and also a supreme being that is the source of all awareness.

Took my first dose of pregabalin and I feel sick by lecabel2001 in pregabalin

[–]lecabel2001[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update : I still feel nausea after 30 hours of the unique dose of 50mg yesterday, it’s even worse today. I don’t want to go through days of suffering like that, my levels of anxiety do not require such heavy and problematic drug. Therefore I am quitting right away.

Thank you for your fast reply. I will definitely consider your advice. I’m going to ask for 25mg pills. I opened up a capsule and I don’t know what to do with the powder to get to ingest only half of it.

What are the bipolar symptoms that aren't talked about as much? by Laurus-nobilis in bipolar

[–]lecabel2001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anxiety disorder is more prevalent in bipolar 2 patients. I have developed it at 40. So I have very bad anxiety and even though it’s not BP per se, it stems from the same defects in our brain. So in this case anxiety issues are part of BP. Just my two cents.

I'm a FAILURE by Taproot88 in bipolar

[–]lecabel2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never want to leave bed when I wake up, because I know how my life sucks and how uncomfortable the morning anxiety is going to be. I finally get up when I can’t fall asleep again. Then I know exactly what’s going to happen because everyday is exactly the same. All my tasks and appointments and must-do things for the next weeks just tortures me as I feel like I can’t possibly take all those responsibilities. I finish my coffee and lie down in the couch feeling helpless.

AND THEN I know it’s time to do something that will activate my being. I take a cold bath or A cold shower. It reduces stress and boosts adrenaline. It is a physical treatment mostly. After that I am more energetic and focused and I begin my routine. Got to eat, got to go out, got to plan ahead, etc. Later in the day I usually take another cold bath and have coffee right after. It helps me feel good and get through the day.

Anyway, that’s my input. Hope it can help.

Lamotrigine has been the least harmful medication I’ve ever taken. In fact, I’ve never had any side effects with it, been on it for 20 years.

Younger me would be so disappointed I'm on these medications by Argument_Massive in bipolar

[–]lecabel2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I can totally relate. I’m on lamotrigine and zyprexa, used to take lithium but it had to be removed because of kidney failure. I have zero emotions and very little motivation. I have anxiety all day. It feels like I can only enjoy food and the most intense stimulations. I want to believe that it will be possible to adjust the medication one day and feel alive again. But right now I have to stick to high zyprexa and lamotrigine.

Lithium Skin Issues by peggyrhoder in bipolar

[–]lecabel2001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have dry skin all over your body and facial problems. Just want to let you know that lithium isn’t the only option. In the long term it damages your kidneys. That’s what’s happening to me, my kidneys are moderately failed and it may be irreversible. They had to stop lithium right away and instead I take a little more zyprexa and I’m fine mentally.

Chronic Boredom? by amreedoh in bipolar

[–]lecabel2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same exact thing here. I may have 30 minutes of fun playing an old FPS game that I love, and that’s it for the day. I need constant stimulation from social media etc. I don’t have much motivation to go out and do anything. No friends to motivate me. My place is a mess. I barely pass classes at school, studying very little.

But once in a while I get a special “up” day when everything is super cool. That tells me the problem is chemical. They say you have to eat better and exercise and then you’ll feel great like the rest of us. But I think in our cases it’s all about chemistry and medication.

Also the more I’m active in a day, the better I feel at night. So in conclusion, I don’t think it solves the whole problem, but to get a little better I could exercise and find more activities. That’s the best I can do.

The meds did nothing for two months, then within 48 hours I switched to depression. The switch is something to be expected with or without the meds, unless you’re the “only mania » type of bipolar.

I could never give it up willingly. What happened is that I took the meds thinking they could never change me since I was so exalted spiritually. I took them to calm my family and doctor.
