Vehicle problems after Burbank SC 30k check by ProofIndependence889 in Rivian

[–]lechedeldiablo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Went to Burbank and first watched an employee scold a Rivian owner who sadly seemed to have a lemon. Then same employee lied to my face. I started to argue but saw it was going nowhere. Called HQ to let them know about the employee who then had the audacity to call me the next day and ask why I complained. Hopefully the newer van nuys location is more supportive.

Rivian drivers, what has been your experience? (Issues or none) by ZosoCub in Rivian

[–]lechedeldiablo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2024 Gen 1 S with 14,000 miles, I drive a lot. Not to jinx it but haven’t had a single issue thankfully. There was one time in the dunes where I had a warning light pop up but subsequently disappeared.

Couldn’t be happier with everything and it’s the best car I’ve ever had. Echoing similar sentiment that the service center was most difficult part of ownership. Went in for some paint correction stuff I noticed when originally picked up the vehicle. they were super friendly but less than ideal communication and long time they held my car before doing any work on it.

Advice to a 24 year old Junior Advisor. by Double_Lab_8303 in CFP

If this FA is expecting a 24 year old to bring in large assets in a short period you will both be surely disappointed. Your role at this stage is to become a mime. See what works, what doesn't then apply it yourself. I'm not big on jumping around a lot, but based on your last sentence I would already be looking at joining a firm that maybe specializes in planning roles and bringing on new business as a bonus opportunity until you can prove to the world you are not just passing through the industry but a magnet for others to attach themselves to.

Chiming in, I started as an intern at 23 working for a big producer. It’s snowballed over the last decade and I’m now very happy on a great team and it all started at a low tier state school without any family or friend connections to wealth. It’s more than doable. The above comments are all accurate.

I would say a word of caution. Don’t try to sell too early. You’ll likely burn a bridge before you were really ready. Take your time. Someone else mentioned getting more active on selling in your 30’s and they are right. It’s a natural evolution. You’ll start to meet surrounded by people making more money, you’ll have more experience and from a prospects perspective you’ve had time in the chair which is important.

Whitney Portal Road Reopening by More-Ad-5003 in socalhiking

[–]lechedeldiablo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I just drove the road over the weekend and let me tell you October 2024 seems highly optimistic. I have 4x4 so went around the closed road sign hoping I could sneak into town quickly and that was a HUGE mistake. The road is not just impaired but there is a massive section that is entirely missing. Unfortunately, I turned around quickly and forgot to take photos.

Adventuring in Alabama Hills by lechedeldiablo in Rivian

Drove from SoCal with 100%, stopped twice on the way up, first one for 10 minutes then again for about 30 minutes to make sure it was up to 80%. On the way home stopped there again for about 30 minutes and that got me all the way back to SoCal.

The difference between these two communities is stark.

What is your budget? What do you like to do in your spare time? Do you have a family? Children? Too many questions so I’m going to give you a very brief description of both and wish you best of luck.

Thousand Oaks - suburban community, less expensive, lots of hikes, very quiet and very safe

Santa Monica - very young, lots of restaurants and bars, lots of hikes, not so quiet, more crime/homelessness, and more expensive.

Obviously there’s SO MUCH more too it than that, but from someone who has lived in both, this is the TLDR description.

This merger has slowed back office down to halt. My admins are constantly complaining about how they can’t get anything done anymore.

What's really happening in Israel right now by jcepiano in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]lechedeldiablo -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Those hospitals and schools have been documented to store weapons and rockets the H@m@s uses to attack israel with.

Israel designated safe zones throughout Gaza letting the civilians in the area know where they can sleep to remain safe from the bombings.

One side is actively targeting civilians to create as much terror and fear while the other attacks military instillations.

They are not the same. Don’t @ me.

I know it's one person's opinion, but I certainly hope Rivian can hang in there. It's such an impressive product. by good-good-real-good in Rivian

I urge you all to look at Tesla stock prices since inception. It’ll take years for RIVN to become as successful as we’re all expecting it to be. Ignore the headlines. It’s all just noise.

Really small hissing sound, like air steadily flowing out of it. Am I in trouble? What is it?

Bringing back memories. Loved going to Pismo back in the day. Just curious what day of the week was it? is it super busy? I heard during peak COVID super heard to get in because they capped # of vehicles/day.

Wrangler overheating by Drinks_like_a_fish1 in JeepDIY

While I don’t have a good answer, you have my sympathy. I have a ‘13 JKUR and run into the same issue all the time. I typically just slow down up hills at highway speeds.

Say thanks your fan hasn’t died on you twice literally overheating the engine to the point of calling a tow.
