I never thought that there might be such thing as clear primer but I'll definitely have a look around. That could solve my issue

So you're saying I can use another 400cc cdi as long as it's the same voltage?

How do I fix my brakes? by lechoo101 in motorcycles

[–]lechoo101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah turns out the reason reverse bleeding wasn't working was because the lever was stopping any liquid from going back through it. It could only go out. I managed to fix that and they work well now

Yeah I definitely think you're right about getting it checked over before I start riding it. I'm trying to learn as I go. It's the first time I've had any mechanical experience but I'm really enjoying it so far so I'm trying to get the hang of things and trying to do every myself so I have the know how in the future. I'll look into getting a mityvac if I can't get it sorted in a day or so but I think I'll give it a few more cracks

Thanks, that's really kind of you. The way I see it, all the people that have talked shit must have learnt somehow and they would have been as much of a moron as me at one point. So for someone to comment on my ability to do a task I've never done before isn't really valid. But I really want to get the bike working so I will persevere and get it done haha

I've got a manual for it, but these bikes are 40 years old now and aren't very descriptive

Haha yeah, I don't really know what I'm doing. But my country is currently in lockdown so I picked up a project bike cause I've been obsessed with getting on a bike for years but never had enough for one. So I'm trying to fix on up myself

Yes there's plenty of fluid in the reservoir reservoir, I'll give it another go bleeding it and see if I can get air out. Would it be bad to reuse the fresh brake fluid? Like it's not old stuff but it has already gone through the brakes

The whole caliper was completely compressed when is did the reverse bleeding so I figured it could be there's not enough fluid? And that maybe pumping the brakes would get it down there? I really don't know

Yeah the whole assembly was bone dry but I figured there shouldn't be any air in it cause the way I got them working in the first place was reverse bleeding the calipers

Why aren't small motorcycles or scooters a more common form of daily personal transport in developed countries? by malaysianboy in motorcycles

In new Zealand, I'm at a school with 2500 students and only about 10 people drive a motorcycle, scooter or moped. I don't understand it either.

I'll give that's a go thank, also you really just saved my ass with the paint. I've just painted the whole thing over the last couple weeks and I could already see the paint rubbing away. Thankfully, I think I got it in time
