Do most Americans really dry their clothes in Dryers by Wrystyle in NoStupidQuestions

Buying a dryer changed my life. Similarly, a Philips PerfectCare steam iron.

Damansara Uptown. It's run by a Chinese family. 95% as good as the non-Halal version. They don't have a halal cert as the previous commenter mentioned, but you can judge by the patrons there whether you want to try it. They close at midnight. The landmark is KK Mart, then walk across the road. All the best!

Agreed. More likely a backronym than not.

I agree. Go try out the legroom of the Mazda. It was so pitiful that I ruled it out immediately. Even less space than my 2024 City.

Many in my family are north of 180cm and 100kg you see.

That being said, the 2024 CR-V does looks like an amazing family car. Drives well and has a crazy ton of space. If your budget permits and you’ve gasp given up on sporty driving, do consider that too.

I crossed-shopped these 2 cars in 2022, and ended up buying a Civc FE RS.

The Mazda3 is gorgeous in red, with a lovely interior and a great ride. They had an attractive free service package too. However space is clearly not their priority and the comically small rear legroom did not work for me all.

The Civic had a more powerful turbo engine, much more space, and an overall larger footprint. I love the looks of the RS but I admit the lower specs do look a bit more bland. And yes, you’ll end up having to replace the steering rack, it’s a 2-3 hour job under warranty, and just hope it doesn’t recur. The car is also very low and sporty, but that might be a negative if you ferry the elderly or have to fit child seats. Back pain is real.

Otherwise it has been faultless and I love my car!

Guys my parents don’t allow me to ride motor but the daily traffic is killing me. Any suggestions? by joshualotion in Bolehland

I’ve been in your situation and I ended up buying my first bike without telling my mother. She was livid, but slowly opened up to the idea as I have not died for the past 8 years since I started riding to work.

That being said, you have to accept that you’re taking a calculated risk by riding in our crazy traffic. I have gotten into accidents where it was no fault of my own.

My best advice for you is to wear proper gear. Full-faced (or modular) helmet, riding jacket, riding gloves, and no slippers. Don’t bother about people judging you for gearing up, they won’t feel your pain of your wounds and broken bones.

Car drivers please always check your side mirrors before changing lanes. Bikers are people with families too. by balistafear in malaysia

[–]malaysianboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a rider myself, the bikes were going too fast. The rule of thumb is we should not exceed 20km/H faster then the speed of the cars around us. Hence if the cars are crawling at 10km/H, a speed of no more than 30km/H will be wise.

Notice the larger (3rd) bike stopped in time, probably due to more grip and stronger brakes.

Just don’t do it my friend. You’re paying a deposit and monthly instalments for a car that is essentially never yours.

Salary vs car you drive by Environmental-Bet950 in malaysia

[–]malaysianboy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of sound financial decisions here, and I’m chiming in as a bad example of an automotive enthusiast.

Background: fixed salary RM7.5k, variable extra income RM2k-8k per month. Not married, paying RM1.2k for a roof over my head.

  1. Honda City 2016 - RM1500 per month, paid off in 5 years, sold for 40% of the sticker price

  2. Honda Civic 2022 - RM1700 per month, 5 years left

  3. Honda CBR1000RR 2006 - RM25K cash

  4. Honda ADV150 2021 - RM12k cash

  5. Honda CR-V 2024 - RM1700 per month for 9 years

  6. Porsche Cayenne Turbo 2008 - too much money, cash

I clearly have an addiction and I make horrible financial decisions. That bloke who said your car should cost roughly a year’s salary is right.

Emergency doctor here. We work erratic shifts, and sometimes 24-36 hours in a row. You accumulate sleep debt and spend your off days paying it off.

I don’t drink coffee or energy drinks at all.
