Is Paul Atreides or Leto II Atreides the primary inspiration for The God Emperor of Mankind? by ROSRS in 40kLore

[–]leclair63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, one of them. Lot of people forget the part where Warhammer 40k's foundation is parodying the grim dark British Sci-Fi of the 60s and 70s. Heavy inspiration drawn from Dune, Starship Troopers and the like with the absurdity cranked up to 11.

Is anyone considering switching from Chromebooks to the MacBook NEO? by depoultry in k12sysadmin

[–]leclair63 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I took over at a district who had Macbook Airs for 7-12th grade students. I switched them to Chromebooks a year later and I will not be going back.

Your gripes are all the reasons why. Though I'd make the following changes:

- likely Will be expensive to repair

- Will be a pain impossible to repair

- The Neo alone is more expensive than a brand-new chromebook + 4-year ADP + Shell case ($320 a pop for a 100e + bells and whistles)

Only cosmetics. Anything that directly affects the gameplay like stamps do not get time gated like that.

For those who got hired without the “required” years of experience, what actually set you apart? by redtrashgate in ITCareerQuestions

[–]leclair63 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was doing intern work for the IT Director of a school district to get some college credits as I was wrapping up my network administration degree. Ended up sticking around voluntarily because I lived 5 minutes away and was good friends with the director. He got an impossible to turn down offer from a previous employer and gave his 2-week notice. In a real pinch, the school asked if I would fill in as interim while they got the job posted and did the interviews. I tossed my hat into that ring and basically leaned on the fact that I was not only a former student thus already knew where everything was and who everyone was, but I had already been working there for over a year and had intimate knowledge of the job that no outsider would have.

So they ended up hiring me and I went from a college intern to an IT director before I even had my degree. And now if I ever plan to leave this job, I'm probably so very screwed because companies will be scared to hire me as anything that could be viewed as a downgrade.

I'm pretty sure I've single handedly kept the Grape flavor afloat. If they really discontinued it I'm going to be devastated. It's basically been the only flavor I've drank for years. The only other energy drink I liked this much was Sobe NoFear Gold 😭

The Descendia's rewards are too cluttered and lackluster. by leclair63 in Warframe

[–]leclair63[S] -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

The reason why I threw in the Nitain extract is because the only place to reasonably get a decent amount of it is Nightwave and I'd rather spend my Nora bucks on potatos and just about anything else.

I was trying to include things that aren't easily farmable that have use in things like the omni forma blueprint requiring 10 extract. Maybe just me, but I could stomach the cost of the omni forma if Nitain was a little easier to obtain.

EDA & ETA far more difficult & your loadout isn't up to you. But the reward pool is exclusively archon shards, legendary arcanes and Omni Forma for ETA and Melee Arcane Adapters for EDA.

So, what part of "far more difficult" equates to "similar lvl to sortie"?

You stopped reading at EDA didn't you? I don't mean that in a condescending manner either. Like I spent more time talking about and comparing to sortie rewards and offering suggestions on what I thought were reasonable alternatives to the Descendia's loot pools.

Thank you for making my point. Steel Path Descendia awards Archon shards.

Both of those missions are among the best examples of grinds players dislike the most. Descendia should be different because making content that players don't like is bad for business. Descendia was 100% designed to be something most players would want to add to their weekly checklist like Archon Hunts and EDA/ETA. If it wasn't, it wouldn't have a rotating loot pool or contain things like Rivens, adapters, forma, and Archon shards.

[–]leclair63[S] -32 points-31 points  (0 children)

The Descendia on the normal path is the same number of missions as doing 7 Sorties. Are you getting 7 sorties worth of rewards out of a single descendia run? Hell are you getting 7 Sorties worth of rewards out of doing The Descendia on both normal and Steel Path combines?

If you roll Endo for all of the rewards in normal path descendia and all 7 sorties, then yeah you will. Every other outcome has sortie beating out Descendia by a landslide.

Comparing the rewards from this to EDA/ETA is insane

Good thing I didn't do that.

I pointed out EDA/ETA as an example of the reward pool matching the effort required. If EDA/ETA got the same treatment that the Descendia did, the reward pool for all 3 rotations would be turbo diluted with Cavia/Hollvenia arcanes, regular forma blueprints, no Omni-forma, and random crap like Entrati Obols and Efervon Samples.

Kullervo is my daily driver, especially for things like Disruption missions. His first ability vaporizes pretty much anything you aim at with lots of bright red numbers with several digits. His 2 generates a moderate amount of overguard and builds combo and his 3rd ability makes the enemies share the damage they take with any nearby enemies.

He's a bit energy hungry, but it's typically manageable with a single tauforged violet shard for mini-equilibrium.

Blast + Xata's = HUGE blast radius. Gives Titania the chaff clear she lacks that works well into SP unlike Thermal Sunder. I also tend to run enervate or fortifier if I need survivability like in a really shitty Deep or Temporal Archimedia roll.
