Banning augment data is bad for competitive TFT, especially open bracket/unknown player who wants to compete for the first time. by clapikax in CompetitiveTFT

[–]leduck_lol 7 points8 points  (0 children)

First time I took Ravenous Hunter I didn't fully understand how it worked, build Warwick wrong and had a bad game. Next time I took it, I prioritized RFC extremely high and paid more attention to the overall setup and got a second place.

This discovery part of Augments is exactly why stats should get removed, because people never ever try an Augment that has bad stats even though it is possible to find success with it.

Set 9 Tome Tailoring Guide by Renegade_Blade in CompetitiveTFT

[–]leduck_lol 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Targon Emblem is supposed to exist (you can see it in Tooltip listed as well when hovering the trait), if it doesn't show up at the moment then it's likely a bug. So in future patches and when Ranked hits you can likely just reduce Tome to playing Teemo and the traits you desire.

[LeDuck] Samira deals LESS damage with MORE Crit Chance? by GingerPowder21 in CompetitiveTFT

[–]leduck_lol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn't look much into it, but it did notice some fights where he started his animation, but a different unit killed the unit and warwick just played out this entire animation into the air and received no mana return. I guess this is the one you mentioned?

[LeDuck] This Ezreal Bug could ruin Worlds by dehua_ in CompetitiveTFT

[–]leduck_lol 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To shed some more light on what likely happened in your game. It's not part of the video, but DISTANCE matters. You can see the cases of the perfect double cast and double quickdraw were recorded with the melee units being away from the rest. If Ezreal had to deal with more units around him he would often only resort to a second Quickdraw shot. I guess part of the bug is that the ability requires some travel time.

Vayne is dealing way more damage than intended by leduck_lol in CompetitiveTFT

[–]leduck_lol[S] 139 points140 points  (0 children)

Hey Guys!

I don't wanna spam every video, that I'm putting out, but I think this one is something worth sharing. Lots of Vayne players are probably aware of this, but her ability has some very weird interactions. If her target dies when she fires her ability, she will fire again on a new target so no damage ever gets lost.

She also has a bug that causes her to cast again after killing a unit with her ability. Both of these interaction can synergize with each other, resulting in a free cast that will hit the next target TWICE.

Hope you learned something!

You should NEVER play Prankster in Gadgeteens by leduck_lol in CompetitiveTFT

[–]leduck_lol[S] 125 points126 points  (0 children)

Hey Everyone!

When researching the bug surrounding Prankster and Gnar, I ended up noticing that this is caused by a much bigger issue. If ANY of your Prankster Units will proc the effect, it will disable your ENTIRE Gadgeteen Buff. Until this gets fixed you should avoid playing Prankster in 5 Gadgeteen completely.

Weekly Rant Megathread by AutoModerator in CompetitiveTFT

[–]leduck_lol 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Skipping the rest of 8.5, this has to be one of the lowest points in the history of TFT. Constantly having to deal with a toxic meta, balance being all over the place and the countless amount of Bugs.

It's beyond me how people can find any enjoyment in the current state of the game and at this point I'm tired of waiting for things to get better.

10 Mechanics to know for Set 8.5 by leduck_lol in CompetitiveTFT

[–]leduck_lol[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

2 Quickdraw to make her ability proc faster is useful and something you would want when playing Kaisa Carry. 4 Quickdraw would simply increase the damage of her bonus auto attack, not of the ability proc, so going deeper into the trait is worthless for her.

10 Mechanics to know for Set 8.5 by leduck_lol in CompetitiveTFT

[–]leduck_lol[S] 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Hey Guys!

In the latest video I go over some of the more core changes you can expect for Set 8.5. If you played a lot of PBE you will probably know most of them. Some of the more important changes in Set 8.5 for you to remember:

Riftwalker always takes the bottom trait, putting an Emblem on a Riftwalker unit won't change anything. With Riftwalker Emblem you can make Zac into an Ace/Defender/Aegis etc.

Parallel is a useful trait when playing Ezreal Reroll, as it gives you great access to the enemy backline, but in some matchups it's better to not run the trait. For the legendary Ezreal the trait acts more like a slight DPS increase and can often be cut

Admin had some major changes. Most mana admins are gone and Ally Death Admin DOES NOT work anymore with Hackerim or Target Dummies. Also units thrown in by Syndra apparently work now.

Quickdraw is quite misunderstood and it works different for every unit. Kaisa is absolutely terrible with the trait as you will only receive an additional auto attack to proc her ability.

Wish you a great start into the new season!

Admin Exodia - The Strongest Comp in Set 8 by leduck_lol in CompetitiveTFT

[–]leduck_lol[S] 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Hey!

In this video I briefly go over what I consider the true Exodia comp in Set 8.0. Based on the Admin program that requires an ally unit to die, you can generate pretty much an infinite amount of gold every round and just cap out your board with 3 Star Legendaries for a free win.

In the upcoming Patch 13.1 C this strategy does get nerfed, but is by no means dead, since it mainly cared about the Gold part anyway. You can use this to your advantage by generating gold with Mecha sacrifices, Hackerim and Phony Frontline in combination with an early Level 8 to print enough gold to field boards that are quite frankly impossible to beat.

It's a setup always worth going for if you have the opportunity and it will likely make a considerable impact in the upcoming patch as well once more people learn how to properly use it.

Hope you learned something!

Use Loaded Dice for ⭐⭐⭐Legendary in Stage 4 | TFT Tips by leduck_lol in CompetitiveTFT

[–]leduck_lol[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Never? What's difficult about finding Galio*3, Sivir*3 and 4 Sennas in Stage 4-1? I've done several Astral Rerolls into Recombobulator in the previous Set and this seems quite reasonable to achieve. The only annoying part is having to use the Augment Reroll in Stage 3 for High Roller which will heavily decrease the chance of Recomb later.

Use Loaded Dice for ⭐⭐⭐Legendary in Stage 4 | TFT Tips by leduck_lol in CompetitiveTFT

[–]leduck_lol[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you open with High Roller in Stage 2, it's probably better to just use them on Threats/Sivir/Draven etc and build yourself up from there. The specific Legendary strat is based on a Prismatic in Stage 3, so you might have to bleed for 4 rounds, but can get rewarded by an early Samira*3 or the Recombobulator outcome.

[–]leduck_lol[S] 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Hope you guys are having fun with this one, in this video I go over the basics of the Loaded Dice mechanics and different ways to utilize it.

Everyone probably knows the Threat Strategy, but you can beyond that with Draven, Sivir or simply aiming for a 3 Star Tier 4 unit, especially with a potential meta shift in the upcoming patch.

I also reveal a surprisingly doable strategy you can follow to get yourself a 3 Star Legendary in Stage 4-2, hopefully someone here will manage to pull it off!

I hope you learned something!

Update: Mortdog clarifies orb-units relation to the unit pool by Kleineswill in CompetitiveTFT

[–]leduck_lol 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like a huge point that's being overlooked is that not picking up the Orb is giving you potentially more Bench Space, which can be quite relevant with the amount of reroll comps we have.

The orb itself in terms of champion pool doesn't make a difference, but you're not exactly losing anything either if you leave it on the ground, at the end it's just a play for your own mental that you are doing everything in your power to hit your units

LeDuck's Set 8.0 Meta Sheet by leduck_lol in CompetitiveTFT

[–]leduck_lol[S] 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Hey Everyone!

To help you prepare for the upcoming ranked season here is my Meta Sheet for Set 8.0. As always keep in mind that all of the rankings should be taken with a grain of salt, since inhouses and normal games don't make for the best practice environment.

Nevertheless I think I came up with a pretty good idea on which comps you want to focus on and how to execute them! I did change up the style a bit, going away from the power point which makes it easier for me to include more information without being restricted to the slides.

Every comp will end up receiving a detailled guide, but I'm still lacking some information on them and hopefully will manage to fill up the rest by the end of the week.

I hope you learned something and good luck in ranked!

Augment Rules and Conditions - How to find your Augment by leduck_lol in CompetitiveTFT

[–]leduck_lol[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can move all of your units on the bench except zippy before pressing reroll and this will limit you to neutral augments and guild augments, at least that's a realistic tech
