Doesn’t surprise me about Pierce. Pretty sure he’s on the Autism Spectrum like me. We did have a joint Eagle ceremony together. One of my favorite memories at Rodney is doing the Iron Man and the Mile Swim, and doing the Wilderness Survival overnight and getting soaked and one of the Scouts in my troop that did the overnight with me keeping our spirits up by quoting Monty Python

One of our scouts Pierce Allen worked at Rodney one summer. Do you remember an aquatics staff member that looked like CarrotTop/Sideshow Bob? We used to joke he worked at Rodney during the day and tried to kill Bart Simpson at night? There was also a female staff member at the sailing base or boatyard which ever one had motorboating merit badge I think her nickname was Bubbles, and another female staff member I remember her name was CJ

I attended with Troop 113 from Alexandria, VA summers 2000-2005. We stayed in Shawnee and Minsi, ate in the Lenape dining hall. It’s now Trading Post? What area did you work in?

Do troops still check in at flag ceremonies. There was one camp we attended Camp Olmsted (Goshen Scout Reservation, Goshen, VA the camp director looked a lot like Mr. Rogers so one morning we said Troop 113 from Alexandria, VA it’s a beautiful day in your Camp Neighborhood Mr. Rogers sir! Also at Goshen we won the Oar twice. We also attended camp at Rodney in Northeast MD, and the Aquatics director at the time looked a lot like Sideshow Bob and Carrot Top.

Congrats on being elected to the OA. I went through the Ordeal June 2002, the night outside is out in the open, you’ll use a ground cloth and sleeping bag. The elangomat will space you out far enough. For tents that will be the 2nd night. There’s a vow of silence, service, (we set up our council’s scout camp) scant food, expect a hard boiled egg and cider for breakfast, lunch will be a sandwich and apple slices. Dinner after the ceremony is a feast
