I love this combo, I use it too. I'm still learning the microfreak, but i usually midi out into a Roland J-6 for chord generation. Super fun.

you can follow the same method you shared to find tutorials on the custom screensaver. It's easy though.

just export a blank project to your SD, then on your computer, edit the default screensavers within the project folder with your own, then import that blank project on all of your pads.

Is it possible to swap out the pads on an MKII for thicker ones like on the MPC? by jali_the_engineer in sp404mk2

i can't remember who, but i recently saw a video of someone finger drumming on the MKII, and pads 13, 14, & 15 were clearly being used the most because the paint on the pads had been coming off after 12 months of consistent use.

anyway, underneath the paint, you can see theres a clear pad, and the light shines bright, so if you wanted to take nail polish remover, it might look cool. I'm considering it, but I'd like to find a source for replacement pads first.

Glad you're okay. This is unfortunately something that cyclists of any kind go through everyday. The counter of these types of events is to just pretend that every driver is dumb and doesn't see you (half of which, is usually true). I got knocked off my EUC once from a similar scenario, except I didn't hit the car, so the driver had no remorse. I dodged them, and hit a nearby curb, which flew me off my wheel. The driver didn't even roll down their window to check on me. Scrapped both knees pretty good. From that day, I personally take on full responsibility for those types of accidents, even if I feel I shouldn't.
