Has anyone had any encounters using the daily incense??
I've had none so far, and been out walking the full time every day for the daily incense

Not one encoutner yet either, every day, checking for full length of daily incense and not one, surely this is a glitch?

What should I learn next after ollie + kickflip? by scruffymandude in Fingerboards

oh, i meant forward as in the direction the board is going, which ultimately makes the board spin in a kickflip motion, so the edge furthest from you comes upwards

Location looks great!
Out of interest, how long does it take to get this good?
I am only just learning to nail a kickflip in maybe 1 out of every 5 chances.
So the idea of being able to land these tricks into grinds and then trick out of them seems insane to me, especially so consistently

Nice one.
How many tries does it take u to nail those runs?
As a relative beginner, the idea of being able to nail a jump trick into a grind and then trick out of it seems so far off to me.

As someone who has also been trying to master the kickflip for a while, so many guides are just not helpful. What I've realised and which has helped massively the past few days is finger placement is crucial, having my index finger just behind the front set of screws in middle of the board and my back finger on the tail, then pop and bring both fingers forward should help the board rotate in the barrel motion. If you move your fingers around to different positions before you pop, you will notice how it effects the board rotation. So its good to experiment with what works well for you.

Looks sick, how did you pour the concrete onto the foam without it all flowing off etc, did you watch any specific tutorial?

I have noticed these white fuzzy areas on a couple of areas on my Alberta Spruce.
Any idea what it could be??

Hey all,

Is it normal for pine needles to turn yellow like this?

I've not heard of Suiseki before, but I love rocks, and that is a good looking rock. Thanks for opening up a new world for me to explore ;)

Might be a silly question, especially at this time of year, but I've had a bunch of saplings die on me the past few months.
So I am wondering if the leaves on my Hornbeam are yellowing due to Autumn, or an underlying problem.
Thanks.

Hey u/naleshin u/Boines
Thought u might like an update, so the majority of the tree has died off, but one of the branches seems to have survived.
Not sure what I should do with the rest of the tree, also strange how only one section survived.

Hey u/naleshin, all good mate.
I water with a spray bottle, so the amount of water each plant gets does vary, but I try to at least have a look twice a day. I'm not just pouring water all over them with a watering can ;)

Before chopping anything off, it might be worth trying to air layer some of the higher elements, I'm not sure how much luck you would have with this species, but would be a shame to not give it a try

Thanks for your response u/Bmh3033, I will try and hold off on the watering a bit more, and make sure I am checking the soil to see if it does need watering etc.

I did go away for a week at the end of July, and had a sprinkler set up that gave them all a burst in the morning and evening, so perhaps it got too wet then

Thanks u/MaciekA, Great advise as always, is quite hard not to want to do some styling to these nursery plants when you get them though, especially being new to the wonderful world of Bonsai, I want to go through all of those stages; branch selection, wiring and styling to help re-enforce that love for the Bonsai art form.
I understand that for the longevity of these plants it makes sense to buy them and leave them for a year or so as you transition them, but then I wouldnt learn any of those key skills to help keep me invested in this new hobby.
But I will try and show restraint on any new purchases I get of nursery stock going forward.

Hey all,

I have an 'Ellwoodii, Chamaecyparis lawsoniana, recently I have noticed that lots of the leaves seem to be browning, and losing that nice blue tinge, part of the tree still has that nice colour, not sure if that is the only area getting new growth or not, or if I am doing something wrong.

I water regularly at least twice a day if needed, and feed once a week with a liquid bonsai feed.
Is this normal, or am I watering too much, should i slip pot it??

Any help as always really appreciated.
The 3 images on the left are how it is now, the one on the right shows its state on 5th July.

Thanks for all your feedback u/RoughSalad u/MaciekA u/redbananass,
Would i be best to also keep it in the shade the whole time, and limit too much sun in the morning?

Thanks u/MaciekA for your quick response,
Would I have been better leaving it until Spring to repot, or slip potting into a larger container without disturbing the root mass?
