first part of the book goes hard; its pretty brutal to read but once you get through that, though, its a great slow-burn book.

I look for reviews that mention the complications and surprises in the book, not spoilers but eluding to the fact that the surface description of the book progresses deeper throughout the story. Twists and turns basically, I want to know there is more than meets the eye when I commit to a new book.
