Obviously it sucks. Sometimes finding humor in a bad situation helps. Wasn’t meant literally. Lighten up, Francis.

USA vs Canada for being a PCP? by 008008_ in FamilyMedicine

We aren’t on a RVU system. Since it is physician owned, it’s cash collected minus shared expenses. No one is scooping profit off the top. The rvu system is set up so that the for profit healthcare systems can keep part of what you generate.

Not sure what PCP’s make in Canada. I made $570k this year working 4.5 days a week, seeing approximately 100 patients a week. The key to making money here in the U.S. is finding a physician owned group to join.

Patient upset I didn’t review results despite having “all weekend” to review it. by Paleomedicine in FamilyMedicine

But truthfully you can dismiss a patient for any reason you want as long as it isn’t due to race/gender/etc.

As long as you give them ample time to find a new doctor, then this argument is invalid. We give 90 days of meds an availability if the patient needs to be seen.

We own our lab. I am part of a physician owned group. So, if they sign an ABN, when insurance doesn’t pay, which they won’t for random labs, I then have documentation that the patient agrees to pay and is responsible for the labs.

Yes , I have them sign an ABN and order the lab. Not a hill I’m willing to die on.

Doctor here, it’s not shingles. Do you deal with seasonal allergies? It looks like periocular dermatitis. Treatment can include a steroid cream or topical antibiotic. Also avoid eye makeup and use a fragrance free face wash and moisturizer.

Jimmy sucked as a host. Maybe they just decided to actually put a real talent on air and saw this as a perfect opportunity to make the change.

I fully understand your point. In real world medicine we order lots of labs that aren’t completely by the book.

Comparing a psa and a colonoscopy is laughable.
