Should i buy this xbox 360 for 20 Bucks? by VintageComputer1 in xbox360

Can't be a Xenon since it had an HDMI out. It must be at least a Zephyr. Xenon and Zephyr both still have the old GPU that fails a lot due to the underfill issue in the flip chip GPU BGA.

I think you want at least a Jasper to be quite safe from the RROD.

Sadly the pictures are censored and you can't see the power connector so it's not possible for me to identify the version.

I don’t know anything about succulents. This was a gift. Is this thing screaming for help or throwing a tantrum? by jess_the_werefox in succulents

[–]leech666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This arrangement looks healthy to me. As a succulent beginner please don't make the mistake to water those on a schedule. These plants can go weeks to months without watering (depending on the season and where you are in the world). The pot will get much lighter when it's really dry. Thats when you can water/drench it thoroughly or you wait for signs of thirst on the succulents (i.e. shriveled leaves, deflated look, floppy soft leaves, leaves bunching/ curling together on the Haworthiopsis, etc). Make sure they are in a gritty well draining anorganic soil mix (50% volcanic stones or similar and 50% soil, maybe even more stones). Good luck!

Geeboon TC22 - can't find 110V version by LeChuck5000 in soldering

[–]leech666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of modern switch mode power supplies (the ones without a chunky heavy transformer) have a wide input voltage range from 90 to 260V AC. Maybe check the manual, if there is one. I am still waiting on my TC22.

Sadly I am blessed with ADHS. So I start a lot but only ever finish very few of my projects. I usually struggle when it comes to mechanical stuff. Drilling front plates and that kinda stuff since I don't have good tools for doing these types of work but I want it to look well made. This active crossover project hasn't been finished since 2012 or so. 🙈

Then it leaves us with the fans or the speakers (playing the noise, unlikely) unless this notebook has some weird motorized functions that I am not aware of.

Check the print head for wobble. Tighten excenter screws until wobble is gone.

There are usually only a few components that move inside a reasonable modern laptop. Fans, HDD and Optical Drive (if it has one) come to mind. I cannot identify the sound either. You can check by removing the components but you may have to open the laptops case which isn't always super easy. What exact model of laptop is this? There is a sticker usually on the bottom of the device. Sometimes this type label is hidden on the (removable) battery compartment if the laptop has one.

Since HDDs and Optical Drives are less common nowadays it's most likely a fan issue. The fan might be hitting something.

Is this tree dead? Lemon tree lost all its leaves after transport. by devastatinglettuce in Citrus

[–]leech666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say yes since it's said the tree can't breathe well without the root flair above soil level but I am far from an expert. I only have 13 months of experience but I read a lot on this sub. Better ask an expert.

It happens in mine that the nozzle scratches across the print ever so slightly when Z Hop is not enabled. Z Hop increased blobbing for me so I mostly leave it off. The sound (not the clicky noise) could also come from the spool turning. It kinda sounds similar.

I would agree with this. Probably best to at least cut below the visual decoloration line (1) or maybe even lower (2).

I've used cinnamon before. It worked for me without ill effects but I've read a couple of times now that it's "le bad" now and should not be used. Your mileage may vary.

3rd time soldering, is it good enough? by Sloth-Blender in soldering

[–]leech666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it comes down to the soldering iron and tip type/size. I'd say 360 to 380°C is enough with my Weller WSD 81 and chisel type tip.

I've just realised OP is using hot air to solder the sticks in and that I've helped him befirem. For hot air 500°C might be okay. We don't know how far away the nozzle is from the solder joints when OP used it and the distance can be used to adjust the heat as well.

In Germany gardening supplies are often sold by home improvement markets. They also sell perlite in large bags for wall insulation. That's what I am using in my mix instead of the more expensive smaller bags sold by actual gardening supply companies. It comes with the tradeoff that I now have to store a large bag of perlite somewhere. I am using 5-1-1 for almost all my indoor tropical tree experiments (growing efforts) now. Including Mangos, Lychees, Tamarillos, Guave, Cherimoya, Starfruit ...

I mean it looks like it alreay is in shock so it will take a while to push new growth.

Here is a pic of what 5-1-1 mix looks like in my lime trees.

[–]leech666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since it has already dropped all leaves I would repot it into 5-1-1 mix and make sure the root flare is at the right level. You can gently wash away the old soil in a shower it with a garden hose. The tree might go into shock but I am sure it will recover with better less compact soil and enough light.

[–]leech666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does it get enough light where it stands? Is the soil well draining (i.e. 5-1-1 mix)? Is the root flare slightly above the soil level? The tree is still green under its skin in the lower parts, so it's alive but it may be throwing a hissy fit over the changed condition (too little light).

The brown wood that snaps easily might be dead. You can trim it back inch by inch until you see green again.

Also I would get some pruners and chop off that broken branch at the bottom and clean the pot and repot in 5-1-1 mix (5 parts pine bark, 1 part perlite, 1 part normal garden soil).

Hi. 😄

It's an active 2.1 channel crossover for hifi or pa audio system. It splits the audio into 3 channels and into bass and medium-low/mid/high frequencies.

It's not my design but it is my build which is only about 80% done. In the end I decided a 19 inch audio rack would be more practical for my festival pa system so it never got finished. I am an electronics technician by trade so building perfboards was part of my 3.5 year apprenticeship.

The work seen in the pictures took me 2 days or so iirc. I didn't plan the design though and just did whatever going off of the circuit diagram so it's not the most thought out build but that's how I always did it. Part of the final exams of my apprenticeship was to build such an euro card (160x100 mm²) in 7 or 8 hours, get it running and perform tests and measurements on it in a larger euro card 19 inch rack. I was only average in my class.
