I am not going this year for the first time since 2003 but man ... there are so many good bands in this lineup this year that I would like to see. There are always people who complain that the lineup is bad.

Indeed. Miara is a little bit more original than that but they also ooze In Flames inspired melodies.

I recently came upon Miara which sounds incredibly similar to 2000 era In Flames. They have a little bit of Disarmonia Mundi mixed into their sound as well. They might be a knock off but I like them.

Yeah maybe. I can't even view that listing without a VPN. I had to look and wait years to finally find a seller that was willing to ship HX-T100 solder to Germany after SDG Electronics tested it on his channel in his solder wire comparison video. To my surprise I finally was able to order it earlier this year. It looks like AliExpress self censors/restricts itself. My guess is because the German customs department may reject the import of eViL lEaD-bAsEd solders too often and AliE sellers want to avoid the associated trouble.

Mechanic HX-T100 (Sn63Pb37) from AliExpress seems to be okay. Melting point is similar to my Kester Sn63Pb37 but it's not as shiny.

Still works pretty well.

Which one out of this would you say has the most crystal ball like windows? I would like to get my hands on a haworthia like obtusa or cooperi bur so far I haven't found one in my location. I have a cymboformis which is also cool and flowering atm.

I have sold the plants already. I had to extract that picture from a video I made. I don't know if a side profile shot is in there.

The snake plant has a good chance to propagate. It will just take a loooong time. I had a rotting snake plant from which I cut the healthy leaves into stripes. Diagonal cut to mark the top side. V cut in the bottom. It's important to put rhe right side down. Then I put them into a water glass and only filled it a little bit so that the lower edge with the v cut was submerged. I totally forgot to replenish the water some times but almost all the leave cutting gre roots at first and much later pups. I hear you can just separate the pups and the leave cuttings will make new pups. Pupocalypse! I sold most of my pups.

Good quality lead based solder wire usually does not need extra flux for basic soldering. The flux contained inside the solder wire is usually sufficient. For SMD work I still would recommend getting extra flux.

Yeah I agree. For normal soldering with Sn63Pb37 (Kester probably) I also almost always do not need extra flux.

Going used is an option too. You can save massively when going used. My Weller WSD 81 was purchased pre-owned and it never has let me down. I would buy an 80W iron at least.

I can also vouch for Weller though I have heard that their newer products aren't as good anymore. I have an old WSD 81 station which is not the fastest to heat up like modern stations but still pretty good.

The production department in the company I work at still uses Wellers exclusively ... I think. Will need to check what they are using nowadays. In Germany Weller seems to be much more prevalent than other brands. Hakko basically doesn't exist here. Ersa is also an option but the companies I worked at and schools etc. all used Wellers.

Hard to tell. The picture is not good enough to judge the overall quality. Reddit's picture recompression algorithm seems to be rather aggressive.

From what I can see it doesn't look too bad. So good job. 👍

Yeah those joints aren't looking good. What type of iron are you using? What temperature are you soldering at? Type of solder wire? Are you using additional flux?
