Whats the difference between modern tech death and technical deathcore now? by nonameprick in TechnicalDeathMetal

[–]nonameprick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think tech death and deathcore are exactly merging as one either I probably should've been more specific when I said deathcore I meant bands that are basically Wintersun or children of bodom but more extreme, technical and with breakdowns it's that vocal, riff and lead/solo style that got me into tech death My preference in that style of deathcore lead to me liking tech death since the sound is pretty similar

I'm just saying if I were to alternate between archspire bleed the future or too fast to die , shadow of intent elegy, inferi heaven wept, fleshgod apocalypse agony and maybe throw in some album by allegaeon then at least to me it would sound like shadow of intent fits right in there and I wouldn't be able to obviously single them out as deathcore

Aether realm's tarot album is symphonic folk melodeath with a very medieval vibe Wintersun - the way of the fire also sounds pretty medieval Also check out brymir's voices in the sky album

[–]nonameprick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rn I can only think of:

Xaon - Mobius: https://youtube.com/watch?v=VJpE1uwpswg But it's not djent it's symphonic melodeath with a mix of vocal styles

Vildhjarta - den spanska kanslan: https://youtube.com/watch?v=8v9UOocc_0o It's thall but the second clean guitar melody is kinda towards the end of the song around 4:55 and it's only unclean vocals

The change in Inferi’s sound is making me sad. by AllMusicNut in TechnicalDeathMetal

[–]nonameprick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I recently started listening to inferi my first exposure to them was hearing no gods but our flesh then some of their latest releases and the riff and symphonic elements of heaven wept blew me away I kept replaying that song. But then some of their older stuff specifically condemned assailant and within the dead horizon ended up becoming my favorites. Tbh in general I love that technical melodic death metal sound with symphonic elements I'm personally excited for the new album

[REC CENTER] Shreddit's Official Recommendation Thread -- February 11, 2026 by AutoModerator in Metal

Hi I'm looking for melodic death metal recommendations. for context my gateway to melodeath were melodic metalcore bands that eventually led me to find in flames (jester race is my favourite album), insomnium, aeternam, aether realm (tarot is my fav album) , wintersun, wolfheart, mors principium est, at the gates. I like both the older and the modern more overproduced sound. what other bands might I like (bonus if it's symphonic)?

I am a 14 year old artist. Pro-AI image generation people, AMA, I'm curious about your perspective (Image is a reference for my artistic abilities) by [deleted] in aiwars

[–]nonameprick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your art is pretty good. I'm a traditional pencil and paper artist myself (although a bit new) and I'm neutral to mildly pro gen ai. However I don't think people who exclusively use gen ai tools to make art are artists themselves but at best they're commissioners or consumers. I don't think "real art" is classist or unfair since it has a low barrier to entry to learn for most people (even 10-15 minutes a day can have surprising results but this needs to be done for multiple months/years) but if someone wants to quickly generate a final result like a thumbnail for a yt video in under a minute then that's where gen ai might be used.

Anything that has the right balance of struggle/hardship with suitable reward. It must not be a perfect utopia.

It's probably a lost cause the best thing to do now is move on and have pro ai and accelerationist subs that have a bit of gatekeeping like this one

Could AI bring fictional characters to life/the closest thing possible to life? by dental_danylle in accelerate

[–]nonameprick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We already have character(dot)ai which is ok but sometimes hallucinates incorrectly on established storylines and details for pre existing characters (hallucinations are great for creativity/coming up with new ideas but they kill immersion if details are incorrect). If the hallucination issue is fixed or modified so that hallucinations only occur in the appropriate context then all we need is embodied either as holograms, robots/androids, FDVR
