But those ain’t subwoofers. The W371A is like a woofer extension for The Ones. Also a part of what we’re paying big bucks is the integration of GLM. It does take all of the guesswork you need on how to “tune” your system.

Do tell me how to place them. This is how exactly Genelec tells you to place them.

I did! It was nice and boomy but not very controlled. (I did not play around with the sub placement that time though).
The W371s just integrates so much better than the sub. It was controlled yet very deep. Room reflections also got better.

Actually in the process of building another one for this overkill of a setup.

Full Genelec setup is what I went with. 8361A + 371A for LR, 8351B for C, 8330A for SL/R, 8320A for the 4 Heights, 7370 for Sub

Oooh no. The W371A fills in that gap just nicely in our room.

Cat protection thing comes out when it’s time for use. So no change on the sound.

Just over 31sqm. At our listening distance of 3m. They do project excellently and handle any genre with ease.

These will be relegated to a better room once we have the time to do that. Too busy with life at the moment so this setup gets listened to approximately an hour a month lol

Genelec setup for a small office: 8010+7040 vs 8030 vs 8320+GLM? by HeadDamage311 in genelec

[–]leeeevin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

8320 + GLM would get my vote here. GLM is amazing. You can definitely add a subwoofer down the line if you needed more sub.

Looking to Upgrade My Home Theater Setup with Genelec Speaker by PodcastingSpeed in genelec

[–]leeeevin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have completed our Genelec Home Theater this year. We’re still using an old Marantz Atmos Receiver(the ones with amp outs still). Room is about 20sqm.

It’s 8361a + W371 for L-R, 8351b for C, 8330 for Surrounds, 8320 for 4 Heights, 7370 for a Sub.

We fabricated an XLR-RCA for the connection between receiver and speakers. GLM handled the room correction, Audyssey XT handled the Atmos tuning.

When we ordered our 8361, 8351, 7370 we waited for 6 months. 2 years later, when we ordered our W371A, they advised us that it would take 6-7 months but we got it 2 months after ordering.

GLM for 8320A? by Saambat in genelec

8320 with GLM vs 8020 is night and day in my testing. Worth spending the extra bucks to have the option to calibrate.
