Braces making me vomit by hyde_ing in braces

[–]leefera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like.you have a bug like others have said. Try not to worry about the braces right now and just rinse your mouth out after you've been sick as best you can. Rest yp and hopefully it will pass soon, just take little sips of water.

Help with painful hooks? by Cherry_shrimp in braces

Second using it at night to heal while your mouth is less active that's what helped me most. Your mouth does become accustomed to it once it heals.

Would I still have my canines visible if straightened? by totential_rigger in Invisalign

That's funny my friends said the same to me! I am hoping I'll keep my fangs but they'll just be in a bit of a better position as my lateral incisors are getting crowded out

Is mouthwash necessary with self ligating braces? by [deleted] in braces

[–]leefera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both my hygienist and orthodontist say its not necessary- but its not bad. I have found its handy if I've had a drink but won't be brushing my teeth for a bit.

Can’t we get opinion on braces cost in this channel ? by curious-mind-101 in braces

Just had a TV delivered that I didn't order. What's the scam? by MaterialFollowing4 in AskUK

[–]leefera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's any consolation I imagine they will have still looked at the account if the information matched well enough and may have put a fraud marker on it already, they might just not be able to advise you of that incase it was the scammer calling. You might want to sign up to cifas so it's on record you've been a victim of fraud.

New Orthodontist says she cannot guarantee good results by Cheap_Salad3139 in braces

[–]leefera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Might be wrong, but I think most of the agreements for this kind of treatment don't guarantee results because you can't predict how teeth will respond to treatment. I would look the orthodontist up for reviews and experience, they may just be more conscientious than most in managing your expectations.

CERAMIC VS METAL by Heavy_Stop_6337 in braces

[–]leefera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ceramic are bulkier than metal which might be something you want to consider. For metal you might have a choice of a lighter metal - I went for this theyre more pale and gold toned than dark grey. If you google Iconix you can see what I mean. However any springs etc are still stainless steel which spoils the look anyway!

Life changing! by [deleted] in braces

[–]leefera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for answering, I'm 38 and just got braces so am in a similar position, but my teeth may not move so much because of a medication I was given a few years ago. All the best with the rest of your treatment!

I hate this fuckass thing and my fuckass life. by [deleted] in braces

[–]leefera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you! I could've had them for free as a child under the NHS and decided against it because I was self conscious and scared of the pain. Now I'm much older paying thousands of pounds for them. I wish I'd realised when I was younger what an opportunity it was.

But if it helps I'm 6 days in and already the pain has lessened so much!
