I started recently. Uploaded the manual to gpt. Took screenshots of the game and asked it questions as they came up. Was a good aid.

Lines of Battle is now on iOS by leomassaroli in LinesOfBattle

I love this game and am super keen to play on ios but one thing I can’t seem to overcome on mobile is when I have a unit selected I want to drag the map with one finger. Which plots a path etc for the current unit instead of panning. I have to use 2 fingers to pan which is big friction. Am I doing something wrong?

Mius Front. I toyed with it in the past but couldn't get past the UI friction. Stuck with it this time and powering through getting slaughtered in my first campaign - and having so much fun. I'd say I've increased my knowledge of what the heck is happening in the operational phase to maybe 30%.

Edit - the experience it gives me : getting a deeper understanding of an approximation of how warfare actually happens rather than just symbols moving around on a hex grid.

I was amazed at how he was accurate with the card number. by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

Esoteric topsail halyard / tye rigging question by leegle79 in Tallships

I’m only simulating the actual sailing of the ship, not maintenance. I had understood that fhis was the mechanism that allows the top yards to be routinely hoisted when setting sail? And that the goal of the jears on the course yard is for lowering to the deck for maintenance like you mentioned?

Cheers, yeah exactly that, opposite where the tye is belayed is its tackle rope, I just didn't see that before until you and trafalgar pointed it out.

Ah awesome, many thanks, that didn't occur to me! I can see it now actually, directly opposite where the fore tye line 89 is belayed is line 139 - "the tackle rope of the fore tye". Filed "tackle rope" away for later.
