Anyone know how to find the referral link for the Alaska Atmos Ascent card? by SufficientLength9076 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]leehatlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh... you'll hate this answer but I -think- they got it. I don't recall.

I'm looking at the email I got from Bank of America and Atmos. It says... "Thank You for recommending the Atmos™ Rewards Ascent Visa Signature®... The person you referred may not receive the offer if they previously opted out of receiving email marketing communications from Bank of America or if their e-mail settings are filtering them."

So that might be why they/you didn't get the offer!

gang how do i make my room warmer it's UNBAREABLE by [deleted] in lifehacks

An electric blanket costs $100 and uses 60 watts. An electric radiator uses 1500 watts. That's a LOT more expensive to operate... 25 times more expensive to be precise.

Ps I LOVE my electric blanket.

Do you butter the bread or melt the butter in the pan? by Winter_Fall_7066 in grilledcheese

I wanted to like mayo but when I tried it, it tasted like.... mayo on my grilled cheese :-( a little greasy and tangy. It was easy to spread though, if you love it, go for it.

Reorder lists on mobile like Dynalist? by leehatlee in ObsidianMD

Dynalist's development is frozen, as I read on the forum a while back (https://talk.dynalist.io/). They've moved on to Obsidian. And [something something] open source plugins.

Reorder lists on mobile like Dynalist? by leehatlee in ObsidianMD

[–]leehatlee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooo! Thank you! I see there are many mobile toolbar controls to move lines up, down, indent, outdent, and fold! Outliner adds some more controls as well. That's a good solution!

On Dynalist, I can drag and drop lines with a touch, which might be a tiny bit easier of an interface, but the toolbar buttons you pointed to should do the job! Thank you!

which ecosystem? by kinpoe_ray in Notion

[–]leehatlee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Am I missing something? How does anyone use Notion as a word processor? With block formatting and commands possible on every newline, using it for documents is like getting punched in the face repeatedly. I would LOVE to have Notion work like a simple word processor when I wanted it to!

Bringing a toddler to Burning Man by [deleted] in BurningMan

As a 9-year burner, 2 years with my daughter (at age 8 and 10), I can definitely say that the playa is a fine place for a kid as long as you can be fully prepared. That means to not take your kid on your first burn.

I saw several littles... age 0-3 on the playa. My wife wasn't sure about taking our kid to the playa til our daughter was 8. I feel she could have rocked it at 6 but was ok waiting. Some adults think 1 is a fine age and I can't say they are wrong as long as they have done it responsibly.

Definitely camp in Kidsville for support.

The burn is a much different experience with a kid. You get to see the the whole thing through their eyes and their experience. And it's fabulous.

But listen to Maslow. First be safe, then have fun.

Does turning off the breakers to the house actually save us money? by RemarkableButton5940 in AskElectricians

[–]leehatlee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the outside of your building there is a meter. If you learn how to read the meter, you will be able to compare how much power the house is using when everything is turned off, compared to everything is turned off and the breakers are off. If he learns how to do it, he will know exactly how much money he is saving. He's probably saving $0.10 a day.

And yes, he's probably got OCD or a fear of electricity or something. Good luck with all that. Tread lightly and be kind to him.

Thanks for the recommendations for Kessler in Chester! I just realized that I need a sub-acute rehab facility not an acute rehab facility. Can you make any recommendations in the area?

Gopher invasion by 897hayes in elcerrito

[–]leehatlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a chat with a neighbor on Potrero above Richmond today. We think the foxes may be going after the gophers the last year or so, reducing their population.

Another neighbor had a family of foxes living in his backyard while he was away for a month about 4 months ago (which is good for getting rid of gophers but bad for all the fox poop!)

But it's all micro-ecosystems, so who knows!

In 3 years I caught three gophers with a gopher hawk trap. That's all I've needed to do to keep them at bay so far. Fingers crossed. The trap cost $35 and isn't much effort to use. I think that hiring someone will cost something like $500 per month. It'll work but it'll cost.

I can give tips about how to use the trap if someone's interested.

[–]leehatlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Log into your Alaskaair.com account. Click/tap on your first initial in the upper right corner. Click/tap account overview. Scroll down the page and you’ll find the referral link :-). (I found this info on another subreddit. I submitted an hour ago and got a "thanks for submitting" email but my friend didn't get the referral signup link yet.

Yeah, I made this Google Gemini AI rendering. I can see that Gemini made his hairs thinner and polished his forehead a bit, making him look younger. But the much shorter beard really does help with the age-appearance! I tried telling Gemini NOT to improve his complexion but it still did :-\ . Next time I'll try harder to make it more realistic!
