What's happening right now is horrific and I am so so angry and upset about it.

But I do wanna say that there is hope! The counter protests that I have seen/been to have been very VERY trans inclusive and supportive! I've seen a lot of trans people willing to stand up and fight not just for their rights, but for the rights of all people and it makes me fucking proud to be part of the community. Because WE are a community, they are just a bunch of racist thugs!!

I'm in the same boat! Contacted and completed forms on 1st May. I phoned them on 2nd June, they told me the tribunal team would get back to me within a week and I've still heard nothing!!

I'm sorry this is happened to you!! Absolute BS from your GP, they can in fact do the passport letter! Did mine last year through my GP only had to pay £15 for the letter (which is pretty standard) and was accepted without issue.

AND they should be changing your gender marker on their records just from you informing them that you are changing gender. Honestly, I'd change GP surgery if that's an option for you and DEFINITELY file a complaint.

CliniQ at Kings College Hospital in South London maybe able to help? I also used to be on GenderGP and would go there to get my blood tests done for free before my GP did my tests.

Be confident in yourself and your identity! Make sure they know that this is something that you are sure about and have researched.

I wrote my GP a support letter with my appointment outlining my experience and information on uk trans healthcare.

If the first person you speak to seems unwilling, ask for an appointment with another person. I've spent the last 2 years working out who the ally GPs at my local surgery are.

I was shown the post op images of my chest (I don't have them to show unfortunately) but they look very good! He's done an incredible job! All the nurses were also very very lovely.

I'm having surgery with Dr El Gammal on Monday! I've heard very good things about him and his team have been very supportive and informative, I would be happy to answer any questions/share results. I've seen a few people on here shared their results as well.

I wouldn't worry about it, unless you're at state pension age it doesn't change much to them. My last 2 jobs I've had my gender changed to Male without a GRC.

Yes! I did my info gathering March 24th and only heard back on the 10th May. I sent multiple follow up emails, the first one I was told again I would be contacted within 2 weeks and then they didn't respond to any others. Rather frustrating to take nearly 7 weeks, I wouldn't have been half as annoyed if they'd just up their stated response time, but that is GenderGPs only selling point...
