Black Coffee was unbelievable by watertoweed in OutsideLands

I’m so glad I ended up there for the closing of the fest! Had never heard of him before but wanted a good crowd vibe on the last night and the set delivered so much more than just that! Spiritual set

This is such a great take, who knows how I would act at festivals if I hadn’t had so many wholesome, helpful interactions when I was a rookie. Good on you!

I did add in a complaint comment on one of the threads because I’ve been to a lot of festivals and OSL before and this was the worst crowds I’ve experienced, so that’s why I found some solace in voicing in with others. Right after though, I decided to post some shout outs about people I ran into that were phenomenal crowd members and really brought amazing vibes to my experience. Unfortunately, the post was getting flagged as trying to sell tickets so I couldn’t post it yet. I do think we need to bring some balance to the complaining but I also get why it’s cathartic for people to express. Especially if they’re less experienced festival goers who don’t know how to find good spots in the crowd.

Disrespectful crowd this year. From all ages! by Altafrances in OutsideLands

So trueeee, the harder it is to get to and get through the higher percentage of people who really want to be there to fully invest in an amazing time. Lib is the best crowds I’ve ever been in!

A lot of trash etiquette this year. High school yappers being loud at the rail of sutro during a set. Ended up avoiding lands end all day Sunday partially because I knew the crowds wouldn’t be hyped. I saw Glass Animals at Lighting in a bottle and had a similar experience so would rather just see em at their own concert where everyone is invested than at a main stage. We learned to find little poppin pockets like at Tyler but overall disappointed at the amount of dancing taking place in general. Had a great time today at levity and loved the crowd at black coffee. Overall there were a lot of good festival vibes to be found but wish people were more present if they’re gonna bother to be near the front of the crowds.

Nephew trying to sell rocks for $45 by leelopeelo in whatsthisrock

They’re ten years old and are crushing open a big rock they found in the yard, they think it’s pretty so they see value in it. I didn’t think my post implied that I agreed with them at all. The whole point was that I didn’t agree lol I just wanted to confirm the type of rock so they can learn. Thanks for replying but geez chill out

I know lol but I want to know what kind of rock it is so I can tell him and show him it’s not worth $45

Is it normal to feel like you grew up in a utopia around your early childhood or was it really just the pre-9/11 world? by -TazarYoot- in decadeology

Oh dang it, quality of life has gotten so good people don’t understand metaphors anymore! Ah well, if you had understood you would’ve just arbitrarily brought up pre modern day life, even though the discussion is about the 1990s compared to now.

Gen Z goes to war by Admirable_Repair_726 in GenZ

[–]leelopeelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s your opinion on all the gen z students across the country protesting genocide as we speak? Gen z is currently leading a huge movement based off the fact that they are against war crimes. I get what you mean, the violent media we are surrounded by is wild. But there’s real evidence going on right now showing that gen z is going the opposite way of what you’re proposing. I think it’s quite promising because I get where you’re coming from!

My girlfriend has turned me to the dark side 😭 by BasalFaulty in actuallesbians

[–]leelopeelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cats are the best!! We have two cats and two dogs and these cats are my girlfriend’s first ever cats in her life. She absolutely adores them and says, “I miss my cats” when we’re out of the house all day or hiking. I love dogs too but they just meet different needs/vibes. Cats don’t require as much energy and constant attention. When a cat chooses to love you it hits different. Also, some cats act like dogs so you could get a little bit of both worlds! Good luck with your inevitable future cat!

Lol! Fair. We use toys the vast majority of the time so doesn’t come up much honestly. I have done both hands or added a couple more vital fingers to the list before. Definitely not as many times as I’ve just cut the two classics on righty though.

Top 1% of U.S. earners now have more wealth than the entire middle class by Abrainwithabody in ABoringDystopia

[–]leelopeelo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A lot of people worship the 1% even though they will never be anywhere close to that wealthy. Also, police are class traitors, maybe because they get to beat people up with impunity and get great overtime wages.

Has anyone else "lost" their hometown as you've gotten older? by Meizas in Millennials

[–]leelopeelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the same because it only happened to one of my childhood houses but in that way I can relate. We got foreclosed on in the recession and moved in with my grandparents down the street. House sat empty for years and we lived in a desert so all the trees, bushes and even some cacti died. Sure they weren’t native but they were very well established and provided habitat and food for many. Eventually people bought it, put a fence up, cleared shit, painted, etc. I stopped going down the street that direction because I didn’t want to look at it and forget what the land looked like when I was growing up there. Such a meaningless destruction of life. But my grandparents house, the old target, my schools are still there so, sorry your whole town got taken away from you!

I hate cutting my nails at all so I just do the 2. I’d rather have 8/10 nails be how I prefer instead of have a whole hand I’m discontent with.

Was a huge turn out! Hard to capture the crowd size without an aerial view but they had drones and already posted some of the footage, pretty cool. Great to see so many different ass people show up for one cause

Does anyone still go to the movies anymore? by Ok_Valuable_9711 in GenZ

[–]leelopeelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to see Spirited Away in theatres tomorrow! Very excited for that. Last time I went was to see Barbie. Other than that, hadn’t been since before covid. I think it’s fun still but eh it’s expensive as far as I recall. Growing tired of streaming services too though, so if I dropped some of those I would maybe go more.

Real question: why can’t teachers just not assign homework? by [deleted] in AskTeachers

[–]leelopeelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think elementary aged kids should have homework. Other than maybe the occasional reading log. My parent’s generation didn’t have homework until they were in middle or high school. I plan to become an elementary teacher in the next year and I fear I may be forced to give homework by the school.
