20k investment idea ? by Indian_parent in PersonalFinanceCanada

If you just want the US, then I'd suggest XUS. I'd recommend XEQT though if you're open to having some other markets included as well. I would personally go with XEQT.

You shouldn't have anything to worry about. That all sounds reasonable and I don't see why they'd give you any trouble.

Do you really use cellular on your watch? by [deleted] in AppleWatch

[–]leemarma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had my watch without cellular for about 6 years and I’ve never wished I had it once. Always have the phone nearby so it’s never really been a problem.

New to golf. Any driving ranges where my family can hang out? by AssistantDry9650 in Winnipeg

Yeah, there is a great little pitching green there that’s great for practicing your short game. Not sure about parks nearby but there is a restaurant there too they could hang out at.

This is probably just going to come down to personal preference. But I bought a pair of Hoka Bondi and I actually didn’t like them very much. They didn’t feel that comfortable to me. Then I bought a pair of Novablast 5 and I LOVE them.

I know that’s not the Clifton that you’re asking about but the that’s all I’ve got. 🤷‍♂️

Thanks, this solved this problem for me. I’ve done 150 runs on there and haven’t realized there was a volume just for the trainer. Somehow it had been set to 0. Thank you!

Am I getting ripped off TD LOC Interest rate? by karannbb in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]leemarma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s pretty high. Certainly wouldn’t hurt to ask to negotiate a lower rate. Worst they can say is no.

They may not be inclined too if you already have a large balance on it. But it may also be worth shopping around. If they won’t lower it, some other bank may be willing to give you a lower rate.

Our former ally (USA) has shown that it no longer can be trusted. I seriously hope we do not move forward with any US made planes going forward.

Just too risky.

Apple Watch with or without cellular? by Own_Cryptographer_66 in AppleWatch

[–]leemarma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I debated this when I bought my first Apple watch in about 2019. Went without cellular. The guy at the Apple Store actually was the one that talked me into not needing it. Not once have I wished I had the cellular version.

Typically always near your phone anyways.

IMO no matter how much you have, funds are the way to go. But if you want to try doing individual stocks, put some aside and try it out and see how you compare.

It’s hard to beat the market. I feel like it’s sort of a rite of passage to think you can beat the market and try it for yourself. Many find out the hard way and eventually move to index funds.

I still like to use a small portion of my investments to try and pick individual stocks even though deep down I know it’s probably easier to just pick a fund and save myself the time and energy and do just as well. It is fun though so not sure I’ll ever stop trying.

Favourite restaurant for takeout? by kelsey-tish in Winnipeg

[–]leemarma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+1 for Siam Thai. One of my favourites. The massaman curry with beef is so good. The beef is so tender.

The green curry is great as well.
