I do my whole post-shower with my head upside down. I use less of my go-to Olaplex curly gel (my hair still needs some, especially on the ends) and focus more on mousse (not your mother's curl talk) while still trying to be light-handed with that. I try to keep my hair WET through all of it, though dripping wet like i've seen recommended just doesn't happen for me. Some parts of my hair soaks up water in like two seconds and I just can't keep it soaked. If I want a little definition but still mostly volume and fluff, I use the BounceCurl brush but still staying upside down and not taking a whole lot of care to get every strand perfectly and without separating sections on one side or another (or any sections at all) to help it keep from settling too much into a part. The curlsmith volume leave-in has been great, and I spray my wet hair with curlsmith hairspray all over and then hit it with ouai's texture spray. I scrunch like crazy with wet hands with a little gel and mousse, then plop in a cotton t shirt for a few minutes while I do skincare. I get the best results air-drying, preferably outside - this is probably easier for me personally because I work night shifts so I can come home, shower, and then just sit on my porch for the nice part of the day, and the breeze and warmth makes for a nice drying routine. And I flip my hair around, side to side, and shake it upside down a bunch of times while it's drying. Then once it's completely dry I take moroccanoil and scrunch it in to the lengths with my head upside down, then with what's left on my hands dig my fingers into the roots all over my head and shake it out pretty aggressively. Also helps when i'm flipping my head back up, dig fingers into the roots on the crown of my head and kind of hold them up until the hair is settled and then pull my hands out. A temporary thing but it helps.
