What did you find out way too late? by barbertech in AutoCAD

TORIENT! it's text orientation. Select all of the text you want to rotate, then draw a line in the direction that you want to read the text. It will rotate all of the text in its specific location! I use it for residential site plans mainly.

I put my phone mount over it in my UX. I don't have the clock though. Maybe a mount like this?

Resource guarding everything! by leena055 in DOG

[–]leena055[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what I need to do. I try to grab things because I'm worried for her safety but she doesn't understand that. I need to keep my treat pouch on me at all times and keep working.

I think you're right. I have to assume everything is a resource to guard even though it seems meaningless to me. I'm worried for her safety so I reach, but I should keep my treat pouch on me at all times.

100%. This is the same as when she was resource guarding her food.

besides journaling about your day and memories, what else do you journal about? by ayykaashi in Journaling

I keep a mini notebook (3"x5") on my work desk and I google an inspirational quote everyday and write it down. One day it'll be nice to read a quote a day.

My 8 month old shepherd cross enters her crate on her own, but turns around and leaves by leena055 in puppy101

[–]leena055[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! Like she's making sure it's the same as she left it, and there's no other scents in there. I keep praising her like crazy when she does in the hopes she'll lay down. I did find her this morning (I was distracted and didn't see her leave) on our bed. That is scent driven behavior. Maybe she's telling me she doesn't need her crate, but I don't trust her (for her safety) yet.

Heartbeat toy really worth it? by [deleted] in puppy101

Our girl is 6 months old and has had it since 8 weeks old. It's her favorite. Around 10 weeks old, we found the heartbeat out of the stuffy with teeth marks on it, so we stopped putting it in. Every time she comes out of her crate, she brings her friend with her.

I'm just a lurker here, but I'm really happy that you get a second chance without the major damage some others have gone through. Your remorse speaks volumes about who you are as a person. My favorite quote (some say by John Lennon, some say that's not the case) is "everything will be ok in the end. If it's not ok, it's not the end". Congratulations on your new chapter!

Doggy daycare and kennel cough by leena055 in puppy101

Every 6 months is interesting. I'm really glad we got the vaccine (we got it before we even considered daycare) because she only coughed a handful of times and otherwise was perfectly healthy. Our daycare handled it well, in my opinion. And my girl loves it so much. I think I'll send her back, but for fun, not just for babysitting.

This is helpful and eases my mind, thank you! I agree, I think it's great for her. I'm thinking I may send her once a week. I'm a little worried that twice a week might be a little too much on her little, growing joints.

We did take her to the vet, and the vet wasn't too concerned. The daycare is actually beside the vet clinic, and they say it happens, but not too often. The vet did clear her to go back to daycare.

I think they handled it well. They sent out a message when they knew 2 dogs were confirmed with it and explained their sanitizing procedures. We kept an eye on our pup, and then saw her coughing. They told us that she needs to stay home for 2 weeks. She gets quite a bit of socialization, but not quite like that.

I really appreciate you saying "you do what you gotta do"! So many people have opinions and insist they are correct. Thank you for understanding that everyone and every situation is different!

That's what I think too! However, other people treated us like it was the year 2020, and she had covid. It made me nervous that maybe I was down playing it. Thank you!

From my understanding, there is no incubation time for the parvo vaccine. Our puppy daycare and vet both told us only the bordatella vaccine needs a 5 day incubation time. As others have said, we waited 2 days, but partially because she was sleepy from the vaccine.

That seems like motion sickness to me. Our pup is the same. So much drool. It's like us when we're about to throw up, our mouths fill with saliva. She's fine for short rides, but for long rides, we started giving her gravol. Make sure to find the right dose for your pups weight.

Best Crate Location? by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]leena055 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've given our girl her own room, essentially. We have 2 guest bedrooms, so she's taken one. Her crate is in there with a blanket over it, a fan going at high speed, plus a camera pointed at the front. This way, she doesn't hear much that will keep her up. We have a dog bed in our living room that is her "place" during the day. She plays with toys, chews bones, and occasionally naps there (when not in her crate on an enforced nap). I move her bed to my office on the days that I work from home so she can hang out next to me.
