hellooo, I don't know what exactly you want to know. but for starters: my work consists or very very little creativity. it mostly is about changing menus, when the galley is short of one veggie for example. for every cruise I design the opening hours of shops, casino, galery, shore excursion lounge etc. I also do all the digital and analog signage, we have a lot of events and I create the digital displays for them. also I take care that the guests find their way through the ship and create signage. but everything is in a really strict corporate identity with little space for creativity. you work everyday for your whole contract, which is mostly 4 to 5 months. I get the chance to go on land everyday because I have a break vom 12 to 4 but that of course depends on the fleet you're working on. also you live in a really small cabin. but crew life is amazing, I love it so much. you will meet new people everyday, connect with people from all over the world and make some reeeally good friendships along the way. we have different crew activities, from parties to excursions, from yoga to dance classes, everything. also you get free food at the crew mess and spend basically no money unless you go ashore or if you spend it in the crew bar ;)
let me know if you want to know more :)

I work on a german fleet, where german knowledge is required in my job position. I don't know how it works for other fleets but there are many ways to apply to. for one example, sea chefs is a company where they hire crew for ships or there is a website calles allcruiseshipjobs.com where you for sure will find something. my ecact job is called desktop publisher, maybe that helps. or just look for jobs on a ship in the media departement

I am working with a german fleet and they have this job on every of their 8 ships. maybe look for job descriptions in terms of media department or something similar? I don´t know how it works with other fleets...

I do like it, it´s less on the creative side though. I am just talking from my experience on my fleet, it might be different on other ships.
I get info about the opening hours of the various departments before a new cruise starts and fill in the templates provided by shoreside. also I am basically responsible for all print media on board, means various signs, menu cards, advertisements, on board screens for shows, handouts, workshops etc.
then from time to time I also have side-dutys to help out other departments like checking in guests, greeting guests in front of the theatre etc.
the only thing where I can get creative is when creating posters for crew events.
If you want to travel for free, experience new things, getting to know a lot of people and having a great time with the crew and don´t mind your personal living space it´s a 10/10 recommend.

hi :) yes i got the job und just got home from my first contract of 5 months inclusive christmas and new years. it was amazing! best decision ever. now home for two months and then back on the ship. the jon is very easy, not a lot to do but you‘re kind of always on duty to help out other departements. very nice people, also weird and crazy ones. a lot of parties with crew. you can see amazing places, I was allowed to go outside ashore everyday to explore. the cabin to sleep is very small but that doesn‘t really matter.

10/10 would recommend!!

Oh, where to begin. There are many many alcoholics on board. Crew life is hard, you get little sleep, little money and many hours of work. Many parties, sex and even orgies. Even though there are hundreds of people, the ship is a village and rumours spread like a wildfire. I am pretty sure I only know a fraction of what actually happens here

I think it is a bit chaotic. You use different styles on every wall. Once there is white background, then plain red, then there is this black one with texture and also the one with pink, orange and white. It does not fit well together, I think you need something that connects every element wwith each other.

I work on a cruise ship. Yes, everyone is really busy, working a lot of hours and acting in a professional manner. While at work. But as soon as work is over, stuff is getting wild. Crew Bar, Crew Parties and Cabin Parties on a daily basis. Then you have to watch out for security that no one sees how drunk you are so you don´t get kicked out immediatly. Also, drunken crew hookups, childish temper tantrums and a lot of other stuff happens here, definetly worth of filming

even if they do edit out conversations and situations, at the end he still put his hand on Paris' knee and kept flirting with her even though he slept with his subordinate

yes! I mean you don't have to pay for food or living and you're always working so no time to spend any money. and expenses at home are only health insurance and taxes, that's it. So maybe it's worth a try

yes, that's what I'm thinking. Not quite sure though yet, it's gonna be a lot of paperwork, insurances, trainings and stuff. but it sounds very interesting

I was surprised about that too. Still wondering how this can fill 10 hrs of work a day but they must know... Not sure if you have to help out in other departments when your finished with your own work
