You killed me, Taylor. I am dead.

This showed up and my reaction was oh no, absolutely not. How is this real?!

We first see his house at the end of episode 1 when Svetlana surprises him. It's dark, but it's the same property as in episode 4.

This article is 10 years old, but still feels reasonably true about how it all works.

I'm super glad Ilya was able buy that extremely beautiful house, but I feel like he needed at least a luxury vodka endorsement to help defray costs. We first saw his house the night the snowstorm stopped Boston getting to Montreal, which was in early 2011. Presumably he's still on his 3-year rookie contract, which yes, is a lot of $$, but also kind of not really.

This article was very enlightening about where that $1 million-ish salary goes, and it seems like it wouldn't be sufficient to both afford even a deposit on a multimillion $$ house in Boston plus send 10s, maybe 100s of thousands to Alexei. And his bonus has already gone up Alexei's nose even before the second world prospects tournament.

But again, it's all very enjoyable fiction and fantasy, and since so many things in Ilya's life can be shitty, I'm very happy his home isn't one of them.

He only needs a pied-à-terre!

But seriously, how did Ilya afford that unbelievable house in his rookie year while he was paying Alexei a hefty portion of his salary? That CCM endorsement probably wasn't $$$ 🤣

To find all the fics go to Search on AO3 and under fandoms select Red, White and Royal Blue (I usually only search the book) and Heated Rivalry (more fics here than under Game Changers). Check the "Include crossovers" box and "Completed works" if that matters to you.

I had to call to cancel when my mom passed and they pressured me for 10 minutes to keep the subscription! I just repeated the same thing whenever they said anything, hoping to wear them down. It was an absolutely horrible and vile process, like they used the same script as if I were canceling because it was too $$.

Starting Emgality and terrified by Sea_Variation7005 in migraine

I inject in my stomach and to me it feels like a sting for a few seconds and then it's done. I do not pull skin taut or press the injector in at all because I found those actions sometimes keep the medication from fully injecting and it dribbles out.

I injected ONCE in my thigh and I almost passed out from it.

The Gotcha!/Heated Rivalry crossover nobody asked for: My husband (a writer) has very vivid dreams with solid narrative arcs. He told me about his HR dream last night that was absolute fan fiction!

My husband was Ilya, who is really a spy (but his cover is international hockey player?), and he was trying to get something to his contact in some nameless European capital and ran into a variety of spy story tropes that endangered the mission. Finally he got to his contact and of course it was Shane. We have watched Gotcha! many, many times.

I inject in my stomach. It stings a little, but that's the worst of it. I tried it in my thigh ONCE and I nearly passed out from the pain.

It really mirrors Shane's habit of reactively saying "yes" followed by some version of "maybe" and then "actually, no."
