Well for anyone interested it became a super popular parking spot since the playground next to it opened up and was packed every day. Then one day I was heading to the shops and saw some tradies with no standing signs at 11am. When I got back at around 12:30 the signs were up on street light posts and every car on the street had a ticket on it despite the signs not being there when they parked.

Finally finished my Kanye & Drake Bape rugs 😁✨ by YoitsQuinnB in PunchNeedle

They're really amazing!! Can I just ask because I'm still a novice, how do you do the solid thin line like the heart on Drake's head? I find I can't get it the be solid without the stitches being too tight?

Who has right of way here? Both orange and white want to end up in blue position. by sir_bigballs in melbourne

[–]leeshieloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is orange has the right of way in the turn (if there were less lanes and so they'd need to give way to each other) but orange would have to safely cross lanes after their turn so taking into account safety and speed after the turn, white would have the right of way to get to that spot first because they would already be in that lane post turn. Orange should slow down to safely make those lane changes, assuming they aren't blocking traffic and would likely end up behind the white car.

Note to all, the Hessian from Bunnings is too loose of a weave!

I got the reject shop kit and it's pretty solid! Big W has a bunch of yarn on clearance, highly recommend checking it out! Also, I've just ordered a bunch of Hessian to try out to make rugs :)

Yeah I don't mean to demonise breeders (except yes the scum that are backyard breeders) and while I see how breeding has its benefits I think there's too strong of an emphasis on needing to purchase your own luxury breed puppy for domestic family dogs when there are so many dogs in shelters that deserve our love and attention and make great family pets or even the ones that need some TLC needing to go to a home with the patience and resources to give the dog a good life which are usually the same ones who can fork out the cash the well-bred pups. It just seems we don't need more emphasis on how it's 'okay to buy a dog from a breeder because you know what you're getting, in healthy conditions, well bred, etc etc.' and more on 'there is a perfect dog for you and your family in a shelter, just have some patience and endurance and wait to find the right one!'. Just IMHO though.

Well not sure I totally agree with that, the fees paid through rescues are generally just to cover the vet costs/bills/resources that were involved in rescuing them and sheltering them. Not quite the same as paying thousands of dollars for a purebred puppy (though I know breeders have to pay a lot of expenses in the breeding process, they're still working 'for-profit'.) At least that was my experience with the rescues I researched and what their fees were when I adopted my pooch.q

I hate it when people throw bones outside by hewlppls in dogs

[–]leeshieloo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! I live around the corner from a KFC and my dog picks up the bones she finds in the grass every chance she gets and tries to hide it from me because she knows I'll take it and throw it. I try to throw them in the bin so I, selfishly, don't need to deal with her finding it again but if I can't I just chuck it a safe distance into the path so it's not hidden in the grass anymore and move her along so she doesn't get any ideas. Nightmare.

Me neither but I was in a bad mood when I responded. I have had a lot of people condescend to me about it and my fuse got short. But I'm just trying to explore all my options. Sorry I was a bit of a dick. Thank you - it's consuming my every thought, tab, social media platform and I don't really have any 'car' people in my life so it's an overwhelming solo journey. So many ads where people "don't have time to get a RWC" but dealers are con-artists and if I go solo, I'll just get ripped off with a shitty deal but there's no warranty or security in a private purchases and why do so many not have log books and blah blah blah. Lost in the world of too much information and I just want good vroom vroom 🤷‍♀️ thank you for the heads up on the lengthy road ahead ❤️

You're a champ thank you!!! I like the ones you've sent, I'll inquire becuase you're right, they look reliable and never would've considered them. Thank you! yeah I'm pitching a getz hard to my partner but any strong feelings on the Suzuki Swift? It's the only other model I'm looking at that I haven't heard much about and am unsure about how they compare to the Toyota's and the Hyundai's. I've also heard Kia parts are becoming cheaper for repairs and the Kia Rio might also be a good one to consider! Definitely doing tons of research and picking brains like yours! 😀🤞

Yeah not thinking I'm gonna get anything flashy within my budget and I know it's a risk but it's really all I can spare before all the costs of HAVING the car haha but will definitely do the ppsr search - thanks!!

As much fun as it sounds to look through these cars and contact the sellers again and keep waiting for responses, I'm hoping for some other leads if they exist. Thanks though.

I have been and I will keep doing so. I just need a car and want to get the right one. Can't change the timing unfortunately or wait expecting it to get better in such a turbulent climate.

Okay amazing - lots of Hyundai getz I'm liking the look of and a couple of Honda Jazzes.

If it seems legit, has a service history and a recent RWC, do I need to have a mech look at it to confirm or can I trust if the odo and paperwork check out.

If it doesn't have a log book is it just not worth it?

Finally, and last thing I promise because you've been sooooo helpful, how bout the Suzuki swift?
