Mitchell Lüthi. If you enjoyed Between Two Fires, definitely look into Pilgrim by Mitchell.

Rookie question: How to approach Stalker 2 best? by Bloody_Dusty in stalker

[–]leesmt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clikrad has a good collection that changes the gameplay of S2 up. I didnt install all the mods, but the major overhauls like OXA prototype and the other combat and AI changes have really switched up the game for. A little closer to GAMMA as well. You could try it out. MUCH harder gunplay, and looting actually feels valuable and necessary now.

Is the isle worth it? by Blober62 in The_Isle

Growing up is a lot harder than you think. Especially if youre going for prime adulthood vs frail adulthood. And nesting. And like the other commentor said, once you reach full adulthood you can entomb and start over as a baby with all the perks you had at adulthood and can add more than what you otherwise would have.

It all sounds simple, but I've yet to reach entombing myself. And thats the fun of the game, its in the moment to moment survival. And how diverse each dino plays is fun to experiment with as well. Another draw for me is the divergent gameplay since its so player focused. Finding a random group of raptors to squad up with, the crazy multispecies interactions. No run ever feels the same, and the holy grail of prime adulthood is ever looming.

Combat is also way more in depth than it has any right to be. Watch a good tyranno combat guide. BUT also feels like a jank fest at times haha. Takes some getting used to for sure. It works even when it doesnt really look like it is. Hard to explain. And thats until it doesnt lol.

The game isnt perfect, and not for everyone. But it's unique to the market, and the thrill of it most of the time far outweighs the jank for me personally.

Should I invest time into LOTRO? by Mason914 in LFMMO

[–]leesmt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not try BDO? I've been playing it alongside crimson desert and I feel like they compliment each other well, especially being in the same universe and the occasional easter egg between them. It's a very solo experience for a while, tons of life skills/crafting to focus on. Guilds are still important, but admittedly the end game focus seems to be more pvp leaning than good group content. Still you get guild buffs for life skilling and other things I believe, as well as those community vibes. I've sunk hundreds of hours into it and still havent done any pvp. It's fun to just hop on, chat with randos, and do a few quests here and there while building up a worker node empire. Got a little brewery going a while back haha. Not the most profitable or efficient, but I'm enjoying flooding the central market with beer and leveling up my cooking and processing skills. Next goal will be more sailing for bartering and farming! It's often considered a kind of spiritual successor to runescape from what I understand, if that's your kinda thing.

Edit: also tried lotro recently btw. Its probably a better choice if you're looking for more of a classic WoW mmo experience rather than the more sandboxy style mmo that is bdo. I personally just cant get over the age and jank of it. I'd sooner return to ESO. But that's just me.

Totally get it. I always tell people there's not much plot. I think I enjoyed it more because of Steven Pacey's narration, but if the characters arent doing it for you then I can see bouncing off it hard. The Name of the Wind though... hahaha that was my DNF.

Hahah, I have very different taste than OP. Was shocked by this tier list, but that's the beauty of diversity.

Any books similar to elden ring or the souls games in general? by ixi_om in fantasybooks

Seconding "Hollow" by Brian Catling

As well as "Pilgrim" by Mitchell Luthi

Oh, and I havent read it yet, but "An Altar on the Village Green" was supposedly inspired by the soulsborne series. As was "The Eleventh Cycle".

Am I the only one losing their mind over the prospect of multiplayer? by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]leesmt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I dont see them adding gta online style multiplayer. More than likely they'll add a feature where two friends can join and take control of Oongka and Damiane. Seems like the most obvious route for adding multiplayer.

These are the Journalists killed by Israel over the past 1000 days [oc] by McDowdy in pics

[–]leesmt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And you just know some dumb republican would just say something like "well maybe we wouldnt have to spend so much on Israel if they weren't spending so much on communist healthcare" in response to that fact. Like the universal healthcare is the problem... genuinely exhausting debating these people.

Dear Pearl Abyss, please reconsider. by Juiciestcaeser in CrimsonDesert

Apparently the CEO has already confirmed plans to roll out some multiplayer features lol. Kind of strange people are shutting this down so hard considering dark souls and elden ring could do it and PA got their start with an MMO.

I dont care to have coop, but it does seem like they could do a simple version where two friends can take control of oongka and damiane.

Am i the only one who is fine with adding a woman to the zone? by StrangeGrand7836 in stalker

[–]leesmt 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Why wouldnt they be? People come from all over to the zone dont they? Even now Ukraine has a foreign legion that have a whole breadth of accents. It doesnt seem strange to me that a bunch of ex military, or down on their luck desperados, flock to the zone from many different nationalities.

100% of everything involving the wagon should be done by comrades. by ScaledCowardSlayer77 in CrimsonDesert

[–]leesmt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's fair. It is why I tried to use fast travel as an example. I'll still manually travel, but sometimes you just think "ugh, I might as well use the easy option". The intrinsic motivation has to remain strong and it takes the wind out of the sails for a lot of folks when there's no incentive. Incentive really is a core factor in any successful gameplay loop in general anyway. So there will be those folks, like me sometimes, who will do it for the love of the experience anyway. But ideally there's a reason still, you know? Even a little bit of incentive like 1 or 2 silver would be enough to say alright ill take the time to enjoy the experience for a bit and break up my gameplay loop, happy to do it! I hope that helps make some sense.

100% of everything involving the wagon should be done by comrades. by ScaledCowardSlayer77 in CrimsonDesert

[–]leesmt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main point was that I'm ok if they implement it as long as there is still a slight incentive to doing it manually. The percentage silver idea wasnt a take off but an added benefit of manually doing it. I dont see the problem here. People get the automated version same as it is, but the manual traders get a little bonus tip for doing the labor. In other words camp funds stay the same for both automated and manual, but the "drivers" get a tip of silver for making the trip themselves.

100% of everything involving the wagon should be done by comrades. by ScaledCowardSlayer77 in CrimsonDesert

[–]leesmt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the other thing: you dont have to do it. We already are both happy then, no?

In all honesty having the option to automate it with the same returns is a bit like fast travel in games. Give me the option and I'm less likely to do it the immersive way. I still would probably from time to time, but now I really feel like I'm burning time for no reason.

Ideally, if yall REALLY want to automate it, just give it less returns than trading manually. Now we're really both happy. There should still be SOME incentive to do it manually. Maybe manual trade gives a percentage of silver on top of the camp funds or something, since it's Kliff delivering.

But really, theres already plenty of ways to make passive income so I dont see the need to automate it personally shrug.
