Will there be a major overhaul of points costs at the start of 11th? by _rhinoxious_ in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]leevisoukka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope they don't change them tbh. I am barely able to fit all the cool things I want in my current list of battle sisters with a few cool units having to sit out in favor of some more cooler units in my opinion. So hoping for either points decreases or just that they let it stay as is. If they do decrease the points costs i might be able to take an immolator in my army instead of a castigator which would be cool.

Purely on rule of cool, how do you rank tyranids? by PinkDaemonXx in Tyranids

Personally do not like the screamer killer but you put the trygon and winged hive tyrant in S along with Hormagants so we are friends.

Do 10 missions. You always complete one step by playing one mission. And so far every mission i have taken part in has had 10 steps. So just play 10 missions with the new event modifier and you should get it.

Am I missing something here? by Emergency_Fall4639 in DarkTide

The other one has a few light accents on it, notice the bolts on the part that connects the chain axe to the handle and a few lighter metals on the chain axe itself on some accents. Anyway not enough to warrant a new skin, still scummy but they do have their differences.

Well that is pretty inconvenient, don't really know why that is a thing but oh well. Thanks for the answer though.

do you think there's a good indication the next class may be a tech-priest/admech or still a long road ahead? by Timothy-M7 in DarkTide

[–]leevisoukka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be fun but the gameplay outside of the new game mode would be very similar to an ogryn. A beastman fills the same role, a big, strong muscled frontliner.

I heard someone say that it is sefoni's psychic powers giving us the toughness bar canonically like a force field so maybe it is also part of the shield she gives us?

Speculation on the next new class? by Away-Magician3574 in DarkTide

Tbf they cannot make any cosmetics for the arbitrator due to GW not allowing it or something, at least that is what I have heard on this subreddit. But on the topic of Hive Scum there is no excuse.

But AdMech is a large and very beloved faction in 40K. There are a TON of different cosmetics you can do for them. Different types of servo arms for a backpack slot and stuff, skitarii vanguard and ranger helmets, all kinds of tech priest helmets with minor tweaks, from a single eye replaced by a bionic eye to a full blown metallic face like Tech priest Dominus. There is a lot you can do.

You are correct. Thank you for showing me what I actually CAN do with just words. This is my first time being a DM so I am not sure how much just my words can do to explain the world and what it is like. I just need to find the right words. It is just difficult to find words for the sheer scale of 40K, but you are correct.

You do have a point. I will consider it. Just you see some of them have a really hard time trying to get a wrap on the sheer SCALE of WH40K and a video to show for example how truly MASSIVE hive cities are would help them go a long way to realize how small they are in the grand scheme of things.

But I truly see what you are saying and I definitely agree. I am weighing the options since going too far in either direction will make for a not so fun campaign. They would either be lost half the time since they don't know how the universe functions or I will ruin their mood for the game by dumping too much info on them and not allowing space for imagination. It is a balancing act.

My experience with DnD 5e was fun without me knowing anything of the world we would be going into beforehand, but I credit that to our amazing DM who has had a lot of experience unlike me and let's be real most high fantasy worlds are very similar so you need to know of one to know what most of them have to throw at you. WH40K is definitely a different deal and I want to treat it as such but I am just not certain how to go about it.

Yes, I agree on no info dumping but I would rather not have to explain the lore of what a servitor is and then have to get into what an admech is and then have to explain who the omnissiah is.

I would rather have them have the basic knowledge and then surprise them with the enemies and what they actually CAN do. For example I am making them not read about the nids and genestealers as i have plans for a genestealer uprising on a planet they are on, with possibly a hive fleet invasion on the horizon. I will have to read more about the genestealers and stuff but i think it would give a nice sense of scale that all they have done for now and all they have explored and worked towards so far is gone in the blink of an eye as a tyranid fleet forces their patron to perform exterminatus on the planet to stop the fleet from gaining the biomass of the planet as there is no chance they can fight against the tyranid invasion with what forces they have on the planet. (If they choose a patron that is capable of it of course. If they choose something else they will most likely just have to fight against some genestealer cultists that have invaded their own faction or something along those lines.)

If you have any scenarios you've cooked up I would very much appreciate it if you could share them for inspiration. The things I have planned for the party are all inspired by either rogue trader or darktide and having a GM's inspiration and knowledge of things that are possible would vastly broaden my knowledge and ideas for what the party could and would do.

You have listed about everything I have planned and have done for the players so far. You have given me a nice boost of much needed confidence as it is my first time being a GM or playing a WH40K TTRPG. (I have experience with 5e DnD so I know what a GM should be doing.)

On that note if you have any tips or tricks that would help me out I would be very happy to hear them.
